NBA is fucked
when no teams can win on the road your sport has some serious issues - not sure what's going on but it is a joke.
|
As long as the Spurs lose in Nawlins I am cool.
|
|
Does anyone care about the Negro Basketball Association anymore?
|
College Basketball man....I love football.....but really...nothing better than college basketball...

I basically lost interest a few years back.along with baseball

Yeah Mutt, parity really sucks. The fact that any team in the playoffs could win their series instead of getting swept by the higher seed makes this soooooooo boring.
</sarcasm> That being said, let's hope the trend continues and my Hornets whoop the Spurs on Monday night. |
The NBA hasn't mattered to america since the last great white american player retired (Larry Bird) after him we were caught up in Jordan mania for a while simply because he's about the only NBA player to have jaw droppingly badass skills, proper speaking skills and NOT just some ghetto fuckin thug.
I like Tim Duncan simply because the way he carries himself but he's not from the states... I love watching a few other foreign players (manu!!!!) Find me a single player that is educated, carries himself respectably AND has amazing abilities... CANT! Kobe? how many respect him as a man and not just on the court? Lebron? uneducated ghetto "hahahahahaha" AI? the former pound for pound great is truly a thug Dwight Howard is amazing but give him another year or 2 to "breakthrough" Simply badass player... big guy that can simply fly and so far has appeared to be a model citizen and just seems to have a good attitude but hasn't quite broken through to a TRUE top tier player yet and he also plays in a market that simply nobody cares about. Any true superstars other than Steve Nash the canadian? thats a whole nother can of fucked up person (canadian) |
I've watched little basketball since Jordan. It seems to be very hoodrat these days. For a while the commish could do no wrong, but letting these guys from undesirable backgrounds be so self expressive was a mistake. I know why they let them be so expressive, star power, but it backfired. They should be more like the NFL and get the urbanites in line.

NBA just doesn't get much exposure in non-NBA team town. We follow college basketball.
|
yeah no kidding wtf is going on with the celtics?
I have 4 tickets at firstdibz.com for finals game two if they can make it that far. Now i have to decide if I hedge those 4 tickets with a bet on game 8 against the Cavs... |

I don't watch the NBA much anymore. I now only watch the playoff games.
|
The teams are all very evenly matched at this point. Home court means more, and has more of an effect. Lakers won on the road, so its all good.
|
Lakers just wrapped up the series on the road, btw.

If i could punch one person in the world and get away with it, it would be
David Stern id love to crack his skull open |
Laker did win the series on the road - good to see.
it's not good for a sport when home court advantage is so lopsided - what's the point of watching a game with a 90% probability you know who the winner is ahead of time. the first thing to consider and I am betting David Stern is already investigating it is the officiating - basketball is the hardest game to referree because literally on ever play a foul could be called - and in the NBA home teams are allowed to get away with more than when they are on the road. |

the officiating of the Boston Cleveland game was so one sided in favor of Cleveland it was sick.
|
I had sex after the game. Feel better now? :winkwink:

NBA is a show. What I watch now is Eurobasketball and College games.
|
WTF? Apparently you missed the Lakers winning the Jazz on the road?
|
As long as the Celtics spank Cleveland tomorrow I'm happy.
|
I think you must all be heavily medicated. You have to be fucken kidding....
Its the best year of playoffs for Nba ever. Celtic cavs game 7----san an-golden state game seven---utah made lakers scared making series 2-2 before losing---det won in 5 but played a great series with phila... I'd bet rating are best they ever have been...Golden state could beat LA too cause they will win game 7--thats the only thing that would hurt ratings |

lol i love how people talking shit on AI calling him a 'thug'

The NBA is changing. They don't want good basketball TEAMS anymore. They want star-power. They want $$. How many people do you know that liked Kobe Bryant before the NBA told them to? Where was Kobe when he didn't have Shaq to bail him out? Answer - the same place he was when he didn't have Gasol to bail him out. Instead of team focus, it's player focus. They tell you who is "amazing" and expect you to buy their apparel. It's become stupid. When a good TEAM enters the playoffs, they get fucked over by the refs. The NBA is all about the $$.
As for Jordan; he was great. He had HEART, which is what most of these NBA Stars are lacking. Jordan was great, and he had a great team with him, it wasn't ALL about Jordan. Jordan knew how to pass the ball and get his team going, rather than taking 40 shots a game and making 10 of them while completely tearing his team down. Jordan actually had good stats, and deserved the recognition he got. Now in the NBA you can make 10 out of 40, have a 30 point game, lose, and be praised for it. Stats are completely ignored. "Well he had a 30 point game and did he all he could do for his team." Once again, stats are completely ignored. Well, besides the whole "OMG this is his 220th 30 point or better game!!". It's sad. :( |
