SEO guys... question on domain transfers
I'm about to purchase an older domain (2002) to build a site for a friend out here in vegas... the site has existing traffic (a little) and a site that is already established.
When I transfer this domain away from the owner, is there a right & wrong way to do it? I don't know if it matters at all how I do it but I'm really curious, especially in the mean time when I take it over before my buddies site is developed. thanks :) |
whatever you do, avoid dead links or having the domain parked or down for any length of time... that's about it

If you're buying the site because it ranks well on SEO, you'll likely not want to change much, keep using the same host, same IP's, etc. If the rankings aren't a huge factor, then go ahead and transfer away, but like jetjet said, avoid downtime and don't send to a parked page.

thanks guys, im not really buying it for the rank in SEO, although i hope to get it there myself.... its put together pretty poorly frames, etc.
im mostly interested in the keywords in the domain and i believe the age of the domain doesn't hurt either right? |
