General Mills, Kellog's or Post?

Who has the best cereals?

stfucash_edd 05-12-2008 07:01 PM

Kellogg's, hands down. Froot Loops, Frosted Flakes, Raisin Bran, Corn Pops, Apple Jacks... just to name a few.

I think I typically like Kellogg's best... although I really only eat Raisin Bran, which many brands carry. Don't forget to add extra raisins.

aico 05-12-2008 07:11 PM

Grapenuts rule, so I say Post.

I tried them a few times, just can't get into them. The Honey Bunches of Oats family and Shredded Wheat family are a couple of my faves though.

Kellog's for sure...Rice Krispies and Frosted Flakes:thumbsup

CDSmith 05-12-2008 07:25 PM

I buy cereals from each one of those, but out of the three I buy the most kinds from Post.

General Mills has:
Cheerios
Chex
Fiber One
Lucky Charms
Total
Trix
Wheaties
Of those I only buy Cheerios (honey nut kind) and only from time to time.

Kellogs has:
Corn Flakes
Frosted Flakes
All-Bran Bran Buds
All-Bran Extra Fiber
All-Bran Original
Apple Jacks
Cinnamon Crunch Crispix
Cocoa Rice Krispies
Complete Oat Bran Flakes
Complete Wheat Bran Flakes
Corn Pops
Cracklin' Oat Bran
Crispix
Disney Buzz Blasts
Disney Hunny B's
Disney Mickey's Magix
Disney Mud & Bugs
Froot Loops
Honey Crunch Corn Flakes
Just Right Fruit & Nuts
Marshmallow Blasted Froot Loops
Mini-Wheats Honey Frosted Bite Size
Mini-Wheats Frosted Bite Size
Mini-Wheats Raisin
Mini-Wheats Strawberry
Mini-Wheats Frosted Original
Mueslix
Pokemon
Product 19
Raisin Bran Crunch
Of those I often buy all-bran and once in a while buy mini-wheats. Haven't even heard of some of the others and most are too sugary for my tastes.

Post has:
100% Bran
Alpha-Bits
Banana Nut Crunch
Cocoa Pebbles
Fruity Pebbles
Golden Crisp
Grape Nut O's
Grape Nuts
Grape Nuts Flakes
Great Grains
Honey Bunches of Oats
Honeycomb
Marshmallow Alpha-Bits
Oat Flakes
Post Toasties
Shredded Wheat
Shreddies
Sugar Coated Corn Flakes
Sugar Crisp
Waffle Crisp
Of those I often buy shredded wheat and shreddies and 100% bran..... so Post wins.

I add sliced fruit and/or fruit extract to my cereal to sweeten it up.

I don't think I've seen Basic 4 at my grocery store, but I'll look for it.

But my favorite cereal by far is shredded wheat. Plain and simple and whole grain wheat.... but that's why I eat cereal, for the grain. There's no cereal truer to the grain than that. Not an additive in it.

MediaGuy 05-12-2008 07:43 PM

Ah you fuckin' guys crack me up.

Grapenuts are those hard little gravel like branshits aren't they? Count me out.

I say Kellog's for Corn Flakes and Frosted Flakes, and Post for Sugar Crisp.

It' not the sugar, it's the taste!

Who the hell does Cap'n Crunch?

There is NOTHING like watching Conjunction Junction in between Looney Toons and blitzing out on a bucketful of Cap'n Fucking Crunch cereal...

I can't even imagine eating that for breakfast . . . maybe a midday snack . . . if I was starving.

CDSmith 05-12-2008 07:48 PM

Take a bowl of whole wheat cereal like shredded wheat, pour some milk on it and then drizzle a little honey over it with a bit of brown sugar and it blows any sugar-filled kids cereal off the friggen map for taste.

And it's 10 x better for you to boot.

But what do I know, I'm just an older guy that needs his fibre and enjoys a good morning shit on a regular basis.

:D

Kellogs + Mueslix = Win...

I bought some shredded wheat a couple weeks ago and had a flashback to when I was like 10, at my grandmother's.

We used to take strawberry jam and put that on the top of the big biscuits (all they had back then) and put them on a cookie sheet and put in the oven for a while.

Those were so good.

refined sugars and high fructose corn syrup = Poison :helpme

GO Organic - Even the cane sugar in here is not so good. Cereals with pure Agave Nectar are the best - :thumbsup Lowest glycemic index means it takes at least 20 min for it to dissolve in the blood stream - Helps your pancreas and reduces the risk of Diabetes :upsidedow
