Hey Tom, here's something to remember
How you layout and present your content to your members is equally if not MORE important than the quality/quantity of your content.
They want to get in, get off, and get out.
Make it easy for them to do that and you should have a winner.

Also, remember to never stop selling. (NO, I don't mean upsells) You sold them on how great your content was and that's why they joined, you need to talk up the content in your members area as well. It helps create the mindset in the member that he's getting value for his $$.

I see so many paysites that put a screenshot of a feed up and link it and that's it. Put a text blurb for every thing you have in there. Let them know what kind of content it is, what format its in, and how awesome you think it is......trust me it'll help your retention.

I think one of the problems with adult webmasters is their unwillingness to look at and even pay for other porn sites. Maybe some are thinking "I want to be all original, and not copy anyone else" but think about it people. There are tens of thousands of paysites out there, how can you not look at what they do? That's like not asking what's in someone's spaghetti sauce when you liek it better! :) I recommend using a directory service like mine or this or this or this or this. and pick something in your niche to check out. Even if you just look at their free areas, I think it's necessary market research. Rather than someone tell you what to do, why not do a bunch of research, put the ideas you like on a list, then prioritize and cull the list?

So, who is "they", just outta mortal curiosity. And don't say "my customers" or my "members"....who are *they* really? Who came up with the notion that this *they* have to "stroke, blow and go", and who decided that *they* have no other viable alternatives than a mass produced commercial porn site? Do yall even know where that presumption comes from? WHY are THEY in a hurry? Seriously.



Yall are guys, aren't ya? Yall should know better than anybody that not a one of you *need* porn, credit cards, or members only access to "get in, get off, and get out". And if you give it some thought, you'd see that there is no hurry.

There's not a soul alive on this planet that needs porn to get off, and the ones signing up for your sites don't need porn either, and they know this. They didn't sign up because you have the best porn. They signed up because of the way you presented whatever it is you have to offer. They didn't sign up because they were in any hurry, nor did they have some need to "get in, get off, and get out".

Suggestion: Reexamine the demographics of your target market and recognize why they're actually there. If you know who the *they* are who are at your site to begin with, then what else to provide them will become a no brainer. :)

For a cheap solution you can throw some polls on your site. People love to vote in polls, even if there's no prize/result.
