According to the all knowing wikepedia they have 321,000 people in the army. Which is about 3.5% of their population.

The US has 2,937,526 which represents just under 1% of the population.

We supply big parts of the worlds armies with high tech weapons and aircraft.

The Scandanavian countries have some of the highest living standards and qualities of life in the world. Maybe because they don't spend $600-700 billion on their defense sectors per year, and don't start wars halfway around the world that they can't win.
