Call it the "15 strikes and you're out" policy.

Our government at work.

"The U.S. attorney's office in Tucson doesn't automatically prosecute migrants unless they have tried entering 15 times. Call it the "15 strikes and you're out" policy." See article below.

This illegal immigration shit is getting way out of hand.

I mean where's it written that you can just la-de-da accross the border at 9AM and get your teeth capped for free that afternoon?

Fuckin Canadians........

PornoDoggy 10-15-2002 12:10 PM

So what do you suggest ... prosecute them, jail them, on the first attempt? Perhaps we should give them jail time THEN a ticket home ... very cost effective.

dacash 10-15-2002 12:13 PM

It would cost to much to put them in Jail

DrewKole 10-15-2002 12:13 PM

I'm more concerned with the idiots we have in our country already, rather than the ones trying to get in.

If this country was as strict on the Mexicans as they are the Canadians there probably would not be as BIG of a problem..

LOL

I had to wait 6 months to get my teen into the Orthopedic Doctor and I have insurance ...Gee, I wonder what the back up is ... ....

Mr.Fiction 10-15-2002 12:37 PM

What are you proposing? Building a lot more prisons, or letting murders and rapists out so we can put non violent illegal immigrants in? One will increase crime and the other will probably increase taxes.

Nope don't let murders and rapists out but there are one hell of a lot of non volient ones they could let out. Put'm in jail, that what we in the USA think is the answer for the problem. It don't work. It costs a ton of money. I use to get a report when I was in the Scale Business on new contract's for New Const. Jail after Jail after Jail was going to be built. Big money "HUGE" money in Jail Const. Got NOT one for Rehab. places. Now I don't have the answer but I do know this putting'm "ALL" in Jail "HAS NOT WORKED". Social Engineering does not work. NOT one (1) social problem has been sloved with ALL the social programs we have in t his country.. Make's a lot of people feel good but that's fucking it. So the people with the problem's still have the problem's and the people paying the Tax's should be in Hillbilly Heven because we have one shit pot of Social program's in this country.

I come for visit, get treated regal,
So I stay, who care I illegal?

I cross ocean, poor and broke,
Take bus, see employment folk.

Nice man treat me good in there,
Say I need to see welfare.

Welfare say, "You come no more,
We send cash right to your door."

Welfare checks, they make you wealthy,
Medicaid it keep you healthy!

By and by, I got plenty money,
Thanks to you, Canadian dummy.

Write to friends in motherland,
Tell them come as fast as you can.

They come in turbans and Ford trucks,
I buy big house with welfare bucks.

They come here, we live together,
More welfare checks, it gets better!

Fourteen families they moving in,
But neighbor's patience wearing thin.

Finally, white guy moves away,
Now I buy his house, and then I say,

"Find more aliens for house to rent."
And in the yard I put a tent.

Send for family (they just trash),
But they, too, draw the welfare cash!

Everything is very good,
And soon we own the neighborhood.

We have hobby--it's called breeding,
Welfare pay for baby feeding.

Kids need dentist? Wife need pills?
We get free! We got no bills!

Canadian crazy! He pay all year,
To keep welfare running here.

We think Canada darn good place!
Too darn good for the white man race.

If they no like us, they can scram,
Got lots of room in Pakistan.

Obviously you don't live in Maricopa County or you'd know Arpaio is a joke.

Have you interviewed the inmates? Do they think his policies are a joke?

Don't go clouding the issue with relevant facts. He's got a great PR machine that pushes all the right buttons with certain people who are gonna think he's a hero no matter how incompetent he is.

Are you from Maricopa County? In what way is he incompetent? How many times has he been elected as Sheriff? I have seen on TV, his tent city, and some of the inmates from tent city and the chain gang interviewed. They don't like the conditions, which means to me he is doing something right. I don't know what the recitivism rate is in Maricopa County but I would suspect that it is significantly down.

I think we should pressure Mexico's government and put the onus and expense on them.

I've been jail's in TX, CO and CA. 5 or 6 in CA. I've yet to see 1 I like. I don't care how well managed they are nor were they make you sleep. For the worse my vote goes to Los Angels County jail..:1orglaugh Putting'm in Tent's that's not shit, those inmate's will say what ever the Boss want's to hear believe me. If they were getting steak and egg's 3 time a day. If the Boss or Deputy want's them to say it the worse food they have ever had. That's exactly what you will hear. Don't know if you know it or, but you are dealing with some of the most manipulative people in the world "The Inmates"... Kind of like 12clicks but not as bad.:1orglaugh

You make some good points, but the bottom line on what works and what doesn't work is the recitivism rate. If the rate is significantly down then the process is working, if not then it is all show. I don't know if the recitivism rate is significantly down in Maricopa County or not.

The recitivism rate is down all over the country. And the main reason is they are locking them up "longer", not because they have been Rehab.

Snowone 10-15-2002 09:48 PM

Looks like Maricopa County are building a few new facilities including a food processing plant.

Quote:

This factory will reduce our current cost of under 45 cents per meal significantly.
So right now it's costing them $1.35 a day to feed a prisoner. I wish our local sheriff was that savvy.

Maybe they should put this Arpaio chap in charge of the welfare program too.

And he's got a 85% approval rating of the public.

The other 15% must have experienced his version of the system...

Yep, 85% approval rating, been Sheriff in Maricopa County since 1992. Even ran unopposed at one point. Doesn't sound like a joke to me. Has introduced many innovative programs. I cannot find a recitivism rate though, but because of the info below I suspect that it is significantly down.

"Equally impressive are the Sheriff's get tough policies. Arpaio doesn't believe in coddling criminals, frequently saying that jails should not be country clubs. He banned smoking, coffee, pornographic magazines, movies and unrestricted television in all jails. He has the cheapest meals in the country too. The average inmate meal costs under 45 cents."

In addition I have seen on TV that there is not heat in the winter or airconditioning in the summer. He has survived numerous attacks by International Human Rights organizations.

Imagine that. Prosecuting people for breaking laws the first time they break them.
