Jupiter Research: Online pornography revenues to rise

for some reason, i thought the market was larger then these numbers?

eMarketer: Online pornography revenues to rise

Oct 10 2002: eMarketer reports that online pornography revenues in the US
will reach USD400 million by 2006, up from USD230 million in 2001.

This is according to a study by Jupiter Research.

However, while revenues are expected to increase, Jupiter predicts that
online pornography revenue in the US will be much lower than revenues from
online music, games and audio-visual entertainment.

The research company forecasts estimates that online content revenues from
online games will reach USD1.8 billion by 2006, while online music revenues
will total USD1.7 billion.

Online audio-visual entertainment revenues are set to top USD600 million by
2006, according to Jupiter Research.

YEP, those numbers are WAY OFF. Adultshop.com who are listed on the ASX (Australian Stock exchange) had revenuses of 150 or so million last year along. They are the guys behind http://www.sexhit.com/ (I think)

They changed processing to a 3rd party when they lost there merchant account or something and lost 40-50% of there recurring customers, there stock dropped from 24 cents down 7 cents overnight.

No one really knows how much money is made in Porn, hrmm VISA will have a fair idea soon though :)

My wife and I owned DyannaDoes. There are some people on this board that know what we made, and others here that know it's also possible to make much more than that with our type of site :)
