Best places to live
 

I've been doing some heavy thinking in considering moving abroad (outside the US). I make my money online in USD, there really is no real reason to stay here other than this is where I was born.

I've been looking at the Maldive Islands, but they have Islamic Law and seem to have issues with gangs.

The things I'm taking into account are

A) Currency exchange and relative difference in living expenses.

B) Atmosphere and quality of living (i.e., island = good, busy city with gangs and no speaka the english != good)

Anyone have any suggestions for good places to look?

Canary Islands or Barbados

Switzerland if you can buy your way in.

Up until about 8 months ago, this was never a worry for me. Now, I'm freaking out over it as the USD falls to its death. I earn about 95% of my income in USD so I'm taking a beating right now living in Asia with a weak dollar. All of Asia is getting stronger and you can count on inflation along with the sky rocketing cost of food (even rice!) and oil. The cost of rice alone has DOUBLED in the past few months!

While I am all for getting out of the USA, I would suggest you plan very carefully and have some money put away for a rainy day. If you can, find a way to earn in another currency.
