Running an internet raffle site. Is it legal?

Running an internet raffle site. Is it legal? I checked google, but nobody seemed too sure. Figured I'd ask here before bothering the lawyer... maybe someone here has one.

Hire a lawyer... if you are a player, you always have one in the wings waiting to answer these mundane and retarded questions. These are answers you could get for free by opening the Yellow Pages.

You just fell 5 notches on the ladder.

I believe unless you are a govt agency or a non-profit it is illegal in every state.

Every state has different rules for contests and raffles. Then again if people REALLY used lawyers as often as they say you should or preach to others. Then they too would also realize that every contest posted on this board and any others that I can think of has broken some state laws if it was open to US citizens.

I think you should bother asking people that you think have the answers cause if you just ask anyone...they'll just throw it back to you...
