What will happen in Iraqi presidential elections today?

Iraqi Presidential elections today. This is the entire ballot:

Saddam Hussein

Yes
No

Hooterdog 10-15-2002 05:27 AM

<BR>
I predict there will be no hanging chad controversy

BrettJ 10-15-2002 05:44 AM

ADL Colin 10-15-2002 05:48 AM

That's the real ballot by the way. Not a joke.

1995's Iraqi's elections saw a 99.96% return for Saddam

On the ballots in Iraq, Your name and address are listed, so Saddam's regime knows EXACTLY who voted for him and who didnt.

that .04% was also eliminated last election by the always fun method of being tied to a pole in the middle of the desert and left there until the next election (7 years later) to think about their choice.

ChrisH 10-15-2002 09:47 AM

I think Saddam's going to win. LOL

I think if I were an Iraqi I'd vote for Chad Christansen. He's the underdog over there. Good solid semetic values, progressive thinker, and I like his stance on deregulating Arab TV.

Go CHAD! :thumbsup

There will be a rumor amongst Iraqi's that anyone who votes "no" will be severely punished.

The dick-tater will win.

Rex 10-15-2002 10:56 AM

I thought the choices were

Saddam Hussein

Yes
No and I want to die

they said today they were expecting 100%.

the real reason for this seems to be another ploy to show himself to the world as "the true democratically elected leader of Iraq" before he gets pummeled

Gary 10-15-2002 11:20 AM

I think its gonna depend on voter turnout. Also, theres some question as to wether he can secure the women and minority vote. With the economy in a downturn, some people are speculating that he might only get 99.95% of the vote, which is still enough to keep him in power, but just barely.

Its gonna be a close one.

Saddam will do just nice - the country is under threat and this will just give him more support. In any country under threat or at war, the leader usually has strong support. Dunno why, half the time the leaders are assholes, as in this instance...

Penrod 10-15-2002 11:46 AM

I just voted but I am not telling who I voted for:winkwink:

Machete_ 10-15-2002 11:50 AM

Actually ther is only a "yes" checkbox... there is no "No" option.. just so you know ..look mom - im a smartass now

Sly_RJ 10-15-2002 11:51 AM

Duh guys, don't you remember! The people love him! Damn, I wish I had those freedoms. :(

PornoDoggy 10-15-2002 12:07 PM

I understand there have been secret conversations between the Iraqi Supreme Court and Anton Scalia ... just in case ...

Alky 10-15-2002 01:42 PM

lets just bomb all the voting centers.

maybe we will go to war today.

pr0 10-15-2002 01:45 PM
