"Cheerleaders" Tops the Chart, Only 4 Weeks After Release
May 5, 2008 --- VAN NUYS, Calif. --- The cheer, "We're Number One!" rings loud and true as Digital Playground's recent masterpiece "Cheerleaders" takes its place in the top spot on the AVN Top 100 Chart (for the week ending May 2, 2008) only 4 weeks after its April 4 release. The AVN Top 100 Chart is based on rental figures from traditional retailers and sales figures from traditional and online retailers. "Cheerleaders" debuted on the chart two weeks earlier at an amazing #8, climbed in one week to #2, and now moves to #1, a position it is unlikely to let go of for awhile.
Paul Fishbein, the president of AVN, definitely took note of the rapid ascent of "Cheerleaders" on the charts. "While everyone is talking about a down marketplace, Digital Playground, first with' Babysitters' and now with' Cheerleaders', seems to be defying market trends.
