Just scheduled my trip down to Dallas, Texas for the CPL Winter 2002 event (CPL). Yes, yes...nerdy computer game tournament, I know. Regardless, it's at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Dallas; what are some good places to stay (psst, cheap)? Good clubs? Anything worth seeing down there?

Are you going to be playing Doom?

from what i can remember of dallas..
there's a lot of good strip clubs.
there's strange birds that make a lot of noise.
also there is a really good brazillian restaurant but i can't remember the name of it right now.

A word of advice...and don't say ya weren't warned...but when you get on 1-35 &/or 1-20, pay close attention you're always in the offramp lanes, cause if ya aren't when you hit the loop, you can bank on ending up in

1. Denton (*Where the hell is Denton?*)

2. Ft Worth or

3. Texarkna.


You'll be outta Dallas before you can say WTF?

PS....there aren't any *cheap* places in downtown Dallas. But you should still check out Deep Ellum. Plus, there's some kickass concerts coming up soon! :thumbsup

I stay at the Wyndham Dallas Market Center all the time. Go onto www.expedia.com and do a lookup for hotels by address. It's normally like $55 a night and it's a 3 star hotel. I stay there cause they have ethernet net access for $10/day. It's not right in the middle of downtown so you'll need a car or to use the taxi's to get around. But they have a great restaurant, and the rooms are clean.

all hotels downtown are gonna be pricey... unless you wanna motel 6 with an hourly rate haha... i'm sure travelocity can find you a decent deal...

Deep ellum can be cool.. but one of our webmasters buddies got mugged over OU/ TX weekend... and My buddy got a bottle smashed over his head inthe parking lot by "cruising thugs".. so don't go their alone...

Dallas has some great strip clubs... true Texas style lap dances.. only others that have come close are in Vegas... at cheetahs...

and restaurants... all depends on what you like... cheap or tres cher....

not sure of your dates.. but we've got the Dallas Stars and Mavericks right downtown as well...

and finally.. "lower Greenville"... restaurants and clubs.. an SMU hangout area. .lots of hot rich SMU girls.... (shawcutie used to be an SMU girl).... Southern Methodist Univ.. for those of you wondering...

smu law students taking shots in deep ellum last weekend.
totally depends on what you like, but greenville is my favorite place. you can also shoot a little north to the addison area(some nice restaurants and bars) i highly recommend a stars game if you get a chance, i went on friday, first time to see the new areana and it's sweet.

Oh shit, i think you just named my favorite resteraunt,,

its called "Tejas De Brazil"

where the waiters walk around the table with different kinds of meats and they cut it right in front of you at the table
