I actually do have a system...I'm a pattern/number fanatic...I have yet to watch even a minute of football this year...but I study trends and patterns...although it's obviously not perfect, because it doesn't take into consuideration the human factopr (did the quarterback get enough sleep? is the tight end going through a divorce? Did the kicker stub his toe getting out of bed the morning of the game?)

This is why football is easier to handicap than baseball (and I'm a HUGE baseball fan). With baseball there are too many mini-trends within the major trends and too many games to track it accurately. This is why, as a rule, college hoops are easier to handicap than pro basketball...too many games, harder to spot the trends then a game a week schedule.

There have been a lot of irregularities this season, so I've had to do some guesswork on a few games (hence a record that's not as good on Oprano's football pick'em).

The funny thing about trends and numbers and all that is you have those times where a team fucks up the curve and the old "wife picked the team with the prettiest helmets" style of picking teams and beating the trends guys and the people who actually watch football. This is another reason most folks do worse in these pick'ems than if they were just betting a couple games. If your favorite team is playing, you're more likely to pick that team, even if the opposing team is the better pick. Built in prejudice....the reason why, as a rule, the helmet picking method and "non-fans" place higher than football fanatics (fantasy leaguers are, generally, the exception to the rule). You also have the problem of too many games to pick (games you'd never have laid any action on) and that dilutes it as well.

Am I the only one in this business who gets as aroused by charts, graphs and number theories as a hot teen goth sucking a shlong wihile fingering her pierced clit? mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm number theories.........
