You're white. Guess what, cinquo de mayo means nothing to you.
That is all.
FYI most Mexicans don't even give a shit about the day. |
I going to celebrate by selling some oranges next to the freeway off ramp!!!
|
Another one of those beer holidays. I heard that America makes more of a big deal of it then Mexico does.

College kids love their oranges? Who knows. |
Yes we, do!
But it's because all the Mexican restaurants have some type of festival today... Atleast here in Miami. |
Cinco De Mayo = Corona's On Sale Day

I am not celebrating it, never have. I think a nicely cooked rib eye is in order for this evening, with a tall bottle of Budweiser :thumbsup

what is really funny is that i went to carrows to eat, (don't ask me why) on thursday and the place looked like fucking mexico with cinco de mayo shit everywhere. the waiter asked us if we were coming back to party on cinco de mayo. rofl. i was like, "you're kidding right?". does anyone actually go to carrows on purpose as a destination to party?
lol. |

That's all I have to say to Carrows. |

I celebrate this day for more than Cinco de Mayo. My guy and I met on this day 6 years ago :)
|
I would say it means more to white people in SoCal than to Mexico.
|
It means the bar down the street has 2 dollar shots of Patron all night
|
I like the corona specials, and seems like a good day to party on.
You don't have to be christian to celebrate St. Patricks day, you don't have to be Pagan to celebrate halloween or the 25th of December, so why would you have to be Mexican so celebrate Cinco de Mayo? :) |
Do you only go to birthday parties if it's your birthday?
It's just a reason to get together and have fun. St. Patrick's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, The Fourth of July, Christmas... all celebration days... |

Cinco de Mayo is a pretty big deal in the Bay Area, particularly in San Jose, where there is an annual parade, and a Cinco de Mayo Festival (which ran all weekend and concludes today). Basically, it's mostly about celebrating Mexican heritage and culture. The annual Mariachi contest and dancing exhibitions are quite popular. As with past years, I'll have a few margaritas and walk around checking out the exhibits and bands with friends. It's a good opportunity to build intercultural community bonds and to better understand people of Mexican heritage, whom make up a sizeable percentage of the population here. ADG |

What exactly is Stinko de mayo?
|
eese for fun.
|
works for an excuse for me to drink..
|
Quote:
Over the years they kept the drinking and mostly left the rest of it where it should be... in the past. But the drinking is what's important. Focus on that. Sinko my tequilio. :D |
It's the same argument that people have for St Patrick's Day... if you want to celebrate it, go for it...If not, don't.
I personally never celebrate Cinco De Mayo, but it's not because I'm against it. It just always falls on a day in which I need to be productive ;) |
