Info for non US webmasters re:Visa

Hi fellow non Us webmasters

Just a couple of points I read in a recent issue of YNOT.
Not sure how big of a concern this is.....

"In light of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, many banks located in the United States will not open bank accounts for business entities that are owned by foreign citizens. It is difficult to ascertain whether this is a random decision made by the banking industry or one undertaken at the ?suggestion? of federal authorities. Regardless, Webmasters should be aware that they might have significant difficulty opening a bank account for their new business entity. If the company has no bank account, then obviously the forming of a US-based business entity is of little use in overcoming the hurdles created by the new Visa regulations"

Has anyone had problems or no problems setting up accounts?

Another thing, there's been alot of talk about Nevada and setting up a LLC there.
Is this what people are doing?
Basically I think we need to share as much info or ideas on whats the easiest way to set all this up, as time is running out. I know one of the big 3 is stopping processing of Visa customers as of Oct 24th if no account has been created.

I think a C corp would be the better option from what I have read.

This page has some good info

Which one of the big three might that be?

And as for setting up anything in the US in time for the changes - perhaps you should look for a thread started yesterday by CoolE.

He's in Canada but has the same problems as us Aussies - his thread makes for some sobering reading.
