Any Percocet fans here?
I've been taking them for about a week after my appendix surgery.
Been reading up online about them. I guess they are very addictive and dangerous. I really like taking them and they do a great job at taking away the post surgery pain. Just wanted to read some unbiased opinions on the stuff. I don't plan on taking it for a long time, but definitely plan on doing it occasionally for recreational purposes. It's far safer then other drugs.... or so it seems. I guess it has to be if they prescribe it to you legally. Thoughts? |

I have only OD'd once and that was on prescribed medicines also while in the hospital. I have also only become addicted twice to drugs and both of them were prescribed and the addiction began while in the hospital and either ended there or left with me to deal with. Now I do have a vast assortment of pain killers, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, and just about everything else. I take each of them with great caution and only when highly needed. Hell I have heard first hand it is harder to kick a vicodin habit than a heroin one. |
They are addictive, and you will build a tolerance to them quickly. They're a fucking opiate, don't go kidding yourself into believing they are safe because they are a prescription. Oxy Contin, Hydrocodone, Morphine, Demerol, they're all used for medical purposes too, doesn't make them safe. That shit will fuck you up.

Percocet will give you the best high... :)
Just make sure you dont take OXYS... |
I had to take them last year after my surgery. 2 of those and in exactly 30 mins, my head started to get a little lighter feeling.
They made it very easy to fall asleep :) |
Percocet is the same drug as oxycontin just a weaker strength mixed with acetaminophen(tylenol). Both contain oxycodone and are equally addictive. Both are opiates just like heroin.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...tle.jpg/180px- "From 1898 through to 1910 heroin was marketed as a non-addictive morphine substitute and cough medicine for children. Bayer marketed heroin as a cure for morphine addiction before it was discovered that heroin is converted to morphine when metabolized in the liver, and as such, "heroin" was basically only a quicker acting form of morphine." |
nope. i like poo
|
get off them asap
|
I used percocet after my shoulder surgery and it was amazing how they alleviated the pain but stopped well short of using even half the bottle. If you have pain then the pain gobbles up the drug if you don't have pain then you get high.
These types of drugs WILL cause your body to form a dependence after time so I guess the only thing left to decide is whether or not you're willing to roll the dice and become a junkie. |
I took them for a few weeks following 2 different surgeries in Oct and Nov. After taking pain pills for years for migraines, it's hard to find something that works for me. The percocet worked great! My prescrips per surgery were both for 30 and I never got them refilled though, so I don't know how addictive it is - didn't really take it long enough. I also have a very weak stomach and this didn't upset it.

opiates are by far the hardest habit to quit. i have never experienced a mental and physical addiction so powerful. using them for recreational purposes is abusing them and will eventually lead to addiction. if you have any questions hit me up
|
they are really bad for you send me whatever you have left so i can dispose of them:winkwink:
|
in terms of pain killers, i prefer hydrocodone (vicodin), because oxycodone (percocet) gives me a not so uncommon side effect of shallow breathing which isn't fun when you are trying to sleep and are worried about what will happen if you simply stop breathing in your sleep. they are also known to cause nausea.
