Maybe stupid but can someone explain "Gonzo" to me, I see Gonzo sites but wtf is different about them?

Fucking without story.. just straight to the point porn.

When reffering to porn as gonzo alot of the filming is done very close up. tight shots on the action, pov shots and so on. it's not your typical set shots like a normal production with a fixed camera and so on. less effort is put into the directing and selection fo camera angles and so forth, and it just tends to be a whole bunch of hasrd fucking clips slapped together in no particular sequence.

Oh I see, like when they interview the pornstar AS a pornstar instead of some bullshit story, I prefer that...

The term was devised by Gene Ross when he was at AVN to recognize that kind of porn that was real, much like Hunter S. Thompson's stream-of-consciousness gonzo writings tried to achieve in print.

Actually, not. There is no bare bones journalism when it comes to HST's "Gonzo Journalism", he wouldn't have made a niche for himself if that was the case.

His style of journalism was to write a story about himself or his character set against the background of the real story he was sent to write about. An awesome blend of fiction and non-fiction performed or set on the stage of current events.

Sadly, he was widely misunderstood and under appreciated. His genius will be missed.
