Sharing members areas without entering the login again. Is this possible?

I want to add a site to my existing one, so when a member joins site A, he also gets site B at no charge. I know I can just have both members areas htaccess files look at the same htpasswd file, but my question is, is there a way to do it so the member doesn't have to enter the login information again?

Place both members areas on one domain, for example

members.domaina.com/paysitea
members.domaina.com/paysiteb

one htaccess file for members.domaina.com and link from there to all of your other members areas. And yes you are able to share the same htpasswd file even if they arent the same paysites/domains (but yet your surfer would need to re-fillin the usernam/password) if they are on the same server.

Hope that helps :)

use a cookie based authentication method instead of .htaccess

Just put all your content up on a tube site for free...
Saves worrying about the access and cuts out the middle man :)

just use simple referrer based authentication
allow each members area to link to each other just from the members url's.
Just like your .htaccess file stores passwords, you can do this with referrers so that a list of sites can access a usually authenticated domain.

Yep. Strongbox is the answer. Plus it's the best password protection script around.
