No one can give you a decent prícing without knowing how many bw is included..

HomerSimpson 05-02-2008 06:42 AM

depends on bandwidth needed, hardware is not too expensive these days.
Check www.theplanet.com for some prices...

Japanese Schoolgirl 05-02-2008 06:48 AM

it's on a 1 mbps port

it's a something I forgot what it's called

it dosen't have a number max bw per the month limit (per se)

Nightnday 05-02-2008 06:52 AM

monthly cost?

Japanese Schoolgirl 05-02-2008 06:54 AM

I think it's called unmetered, it's what I am upgrading my box to
at present, ...as decribed above, the Dell Power Edge 1950, etc...

1 mb unmetered? That's not alot tbh

fris 05-02-2008 07:07 AM

1mbps unmetered is only 320 gigs of bandwidth

tranza 05-02-2008 07:11 AM

1mbps port? That's no good.

:(

directfiesta 05-02-2008 07:14 AM

1mbps connection: expect connections to be refused .... and for such low bandwith, a cheap celeron would be plenty ....

Ok, I didn't realize that before, thanks for letting me know,
anyway, it has been sufficient for me up to now anyway. ;)

pornbling 05-02-2008 07:25 AM

you should try unmetered 100mb/s, but only if you have lots and lots of traffic

Japanese Schoolgirl 05-02-2008 07:31 AM

hahaha 100Mbps is screaming, 10Mbps is more than I need, but I wish I could
have my box on a 10Mbps though, even though I may not especially need it...

Japanese Schoolgirl 05-02-2008 08:22 AM

Is 650.00 too much for 40 mbps on 2.7ghz P4 servers with 4gb of ram? Is that a fair price?

stev0 05-02-2008 08:49 AM

a 1mbps port?? that seems ridiculously slow... if you only need 320 gigs of bandwidth at least get it on a 10mbps or 100mbps port, that way it won't take your surfers 2 hours to load a page.

I've seen 100mbps for less, but if its managed and you're happy then its ok.

Thats seems to be fair to low, but the most important factor over price is the Quality of Support you get?

NETBilling-Andy 05-02-2008 09:20 AM

If you're paying $300 for that server with a 1Mbps port, then we'd sure like to make you an offer for a fully managed server and we can certainly save you money with our world class hosting. Please contact me if you would like to get a no obligation quote from CaveCreek Hosting. Thanks

that seems really low for that amount of bandwidth if the server is fully managed.

if it's working out and is fully managed.. .then you sir have a nice deal.
