> What's the geekiest thing you do?
Some of you may have many geeky things you do, post em.. but highlight the GEEKIEST thing.
Me? I run Ubuntu Linux as my OS and installed open source programs on the local webserver and play with them, stress test them and learn how to modify them to the way i want them. I look at my MRTG charts a few times an hour because I get off on seeing bandwidth blowin' up ** GEEKIEST: I have a blog dedicated to a newbies follies in discovering Ubuntu OS. |

|
I'm an extreme movie geek
I have several thousand submissions to IMDB.com I'm working on a side project/book on the history of horror movies and the transition of these movies in the early days of the Hays Production Code to the films of today....basically how they went from not being able to show much of anything on screen to today's pretty no holds barred sex, violence and gore. A great documentary called "This Movie Not Yet Rated" bitched about the MPAA and it's double standards when it comes to issuing ratings to movies. It got me digging deeper into that evolution from Hays to the MPAA and how things have changed and evolved. Horror movies were generally most affected (good and bad) by these changes... sorry, I almost went into full on geek mode there ;-) |

Is like obsession :P and to hear the sound of IE :P |
-I program web and mobile services out of my bat cave for a living
-I restored an old Mortal Kombat upright arcade box and then modded it to be a full mame box playing thousands of original arcade classics -I like Doctor Who (old and new) -I once broke into the university cafeteria in the middle of the night, picked the lock on the huge LED message sign control box, and reprogrammed it to say obscene and insulting things about the food, and then locked it out so they couldn't fix it without physically removing the sign. Geek THAT. |

The geekiest thing I do? WOW, there's so much to choose from! LOL
I'd have to say the geekiest is that I actually run a "geek" blog and, hmm...well, probably even more geeky is the way I over-analyze my and others code. I actually use a lot of time physically writing my code so it's legible, noted and easily followed by others. I also like to make object classes (Object Oriented Programming) for almost everything worthy. Hah. |
