Verification Requirements for your ePassporte account

WTF is this shit?

They want scans of about 10 documents, including a gov issued ID with photo and credit cards.

I've had an account there for years, what's up with this now :321GFY

it really aint that bad
i was pissed when i got hit with it but once you do it its whatever
if all your shit is legit and straight ..should be no problem :)

baddog 04-30-2008 06:05 PM

They did not ask me. When do you get this request?

Furious_Male 04-30-2008 06:08 PM

I am not seeing it on my account either but I had already supplied docs when my account hit the threshold at the time.

This may be an effort to cut down on fraud with all accounts.

I agree, their requirements are ridiculous. In order to increase my daily withdrawal limit, they wanted to see my drivers license, 1 of my bank statements, and 1 of my mortgage statements or utility bills.

Now what the fuck kind of lame ass bullshit is that? Epassporte just flat out sucks. I wish there was some alternative service out there, other than Paypal.

Yeah, you are right. I mean if someone has gone to the trouble of hacking your account they should be able to increase withdrawal limits without all this bullshit.

k0nr4d 04-30-2008 06:19 PM

I got this notice too. I don't even have most of the documents they are asking for because im abroad. Has anyone with this checked if their electron card is working?

RayBonga 04-30-2008 06:54 PM

I've been using my account there for a long time. And I fail to see how having copies of my documentation will prevent hackers or fraudsters. This is just pure bullshit and bad service.

Here's what I propose, I'll send them my ID, bank statments, credit card copies, etc if they are willing to send me theirs. They are holding my money so I want to see their information too.

crockett 04-30-2008 07:46 PM

Where did you guys get this notice? From e-mail or inside your account?

IllTestYourGirls 04-30-2008 07:47 PM

You can not be serious? three simple things that everyone has to prevent fraud seems pretty reasonable to me :2 cents:

OTerror 04-30-2008 07:48 PM

I had to wait 3 weeks to get my account back to normal after sending documents 3 days later. Good Luck

tony286 04-30-2008 07:50 PM

Whats the big deal of them having them?

CHMOD 04-30-2008 08:07 PM

Using Epassporte is a real pain in the ass.

+ they have 0 customer support.

I had a problem with their shitty service once : they answered 2 months later
with a canned reply : :321GFY

Stay away from them. :2 cents:

rowan 04-30-2008 08:14 PM

I received the same notice today.

Barefootsies 04-30-2008 08:14 PM

A number of 'internet based' companies have required some for of documentation.

I know when I set up my account with webair some years back (no longer with them) they needed copies of I.D. and credit card.

I've had plenty of other online companies from paypal, to hosting, to billing processors, loans, and affiliate programs, request any number of these docs. I do not think I've ever had to provide 10....

But I do know I have had to do utility bills, business bank statement, credit card front and back, my I.D., voided checks, etc. before.

While a major annoyance, and fucking pain in the ass.... when it comes to finances, I would rather be safe then sorry. I can't even think of what docs would constitute 10?!!?

D.L./Passport
utility bill
credit card front and back
business bank statement
voided check
some signed doc/agreement for the company in question

what else?

:Oh crap:Oh crap

Spunky 04-30-2008 09:26 PM

Probably only a matter of time before I get asked too..

wdsguy 04-30-2008 10:45 PM

anyone else got hit with this too?

basschick 04-30-2008 10:52 PM

i got hit with it, too.

i understand they need some of this for security purposes, but i admit that the sheer amount of info makes me feel uneasy. we've never had to send in this much stuff for anything, including our bank.

and btw, we've used our epassporte card for years with no issues at all.

kmanrox 05-01-2008 12:02 AM

i got my card from Kimmy Kim...that should count for something...:thumbsup

fuzebox 05-01-2008 02:19 AM

I got the emails too, hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come. I've already uploaded/submitted my info, I hope they don't take the opportunity to fuck up the service :helpme

VeriSexy 05-01-2008 02:29 AM

Just logged in my account no alerts or emails for me

faxxaff 05-01-2008 02:40 AM

I can understand that they ask for a photo ID, but utility bills, bank account statements, etc. is just ridiculous because many people simply don't have these kind of documents. I haven't received a bank account statement in years. It's all done online. I have never received a utility bill either. All utilities are included in my rental and so on.

Can merchant account holders who issued accounts to affiliates override those unjustified holds?

I would bet no one from epass will even answer to thi threads. They'll just pretend they don't exist.

A couple of months/years from now they will be issuing a statement lamenting that some hacker broke into their server and all client information was compromised

ThumbLord 05-01-2008 03:16 AM

got hit as well, half the documents I do not have, great

Klen 05-01-2008 04:44 AM

Well this is good beacuse it will prevent fraudsters to open massive accounts.I done my verification long time ago so i didnt got this message.

Just like me Rob, just like me.

HairToStay 05-01-2008 04:58 AM

Got it on 2 accounts. How fucked is it? When I tried to open an account, I could not verify the account because I reversed 2 numbers. So they changed the checking account number to 11-111-1111 and it clearly says BLOCKED and INACTIVE in my account.

Yep, they are asking for a bank statement AND voided check on the non-existent account, not the real one attached to that account.

They are not a bank. They are not a government agency. They are simply asking for too much information from people who have had accounts for years.

Ross 05-01-2008 05:01 AM

Can you use your electron cards at ATM's??

paymeback 05-01-2008 05:16 AM

I haven't got it yet but im wondering how im going to find something with my home address on it which epass will want and not a postal address.

From what others have said previously it takes weeks to get sent in documents verified, i wonder how long it will take now?

basschick 05-01-2008 05:17 AM

i've had my account for years without any problems and i use it all the time. how will asking me for a copy the back and front of my credit card - i don't load my epassporte, i only receive payments - help keep out fraud? a drivers license or bank statement was one thing, but all this stuff - our banks didn't ask us for this much stuff.

ThumbLord 05-01-2008 05:21 AM

yes I just took all money out Ross

Nikki_Licks 05-01-2008 05:47 AM

Epass has way too many problems running their day to day functions. I wouldn't give them any extra personal info. I am sure as soon as someone has their personal info stolen from pass?s new attempt of great security, epass will come up with some bogus excuse, if you can get any customer service at all.
And wanting this info to have your daily limit raised is total bullshit. They have no business requesting your personal information, PERIOD!

Lee 05-01-2008 06:13 AM

Im prepared to say goodbye to them rather than trust them with my documents.

natas 05-01-2008 06:15 AM

they are asking for way too much information. as already said here, credit card and bank statements, I just don't have - why waste paper? I get them all online.

Plus I'm travelling attm and will be for some time, which makes it all the more harder for me.

stupid move on their part :2 cents:

BlackCrayon 05-01-2008 06:15 AM

Maybe if enough noise is made they'll change their minds...

HairToStay 05-01-2008 06:17 AM

2 weeks ago they stopped processing for gambling.

Yesterday they began a sweep of asking long-time account holders for documentation.

Something is fishy and not quite Kosher to me.

Probably a smart move :thumbsup

If they can't keep your money safe in your account and away from hackers, how are they going to keep your personal info safe?....:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

You see it as soon as you log in Juicy. Here is what it says:

Account Alert!
It has been requested that you submit documentation regarding your epassporte account. To view the details of this request and submit requested information, please click HERE or select "Upload Documents" from the Menu Options listed on the left-hand side of this page.

We thank you for your assistance in this matter.
