Pipecrew 04-30-2008 08:22 PM

Good for them, 90% of affiliate fraud, the payment method is epassporte. This stuff will cut down on the scammers big time!

how is it hitting accounts that have been open for years with no issues for more info going to cut fraud?

you think the fraud accounts are 2 years old ?

i would bet 99% of fraud epass accounts are under 6 months old.

Sebastian Sands 04-30-2008 08:28 PM

I just got this too. As many others I am sure. kind of unsure what they need exactly. However I understand that it's all about fraud but why not ask this from "questionable" accounts. it seems they want some of my Wells Fargo info as well. I can't even load or send money to any of my wells fargo accounts anymore.

pocketkangaroo 04-30-2008 08:29 PM

The amount of info they are requesting is absurd. They want a scan of your credit card front and back, scan of your ID, scan of a check, scan of your bank account statement.

Sorry, that's too much stuff to give anyone, especially a company that has had a lot of security issues.

Sebastian Sands 04-30-2008 08:35 PM

lol.. I just realized they want stuff from a card that I haven't had for over a year, I have moved to another state and have new acct numbers etc. I couldn't even pull up any of the info they request if I wanted to, I would hate to lose my epass acct. But this is absurd and now that it is all about old stuff for me, I wouldn't even know how to go about it.

And I am not even going to try and call them, been there done that. I get some rude person after 45 minutes wait, and at the end of the convo I know exactly how much I knew before I called.

:Oh crap
what triggered all of this

kane 04-30-2008 08:43 PM

I just got mine. They want all kinds of stuff including a verification form, copy of my credit card, copy of my credit card statement. copy of a voided check, copy of checking account statement, copy of voided check, proof of name and address and copy of government ID.

What a pain in the ass.

kane 04-30-2008 08:45 PM

Check that, it looks like I can choose a certain option and then I only have to do a couple of them.

Japanese Schoolgirl 04-30-2008 08:45 PM

whatever

jscott 04-30-2008 08:46 PM

This will take me days to do, and weeks to finish, if this is for real they are putting a LOT of hassle on us, tons, I hope they feel it's very necessary that they have this info :(

Pnk XXX 04-30-2008 08:49 PM

Requested Form: Verification Form
Requested Document: Copy of Credit/Debit Card (Back)
Requested Document: Copy of Credit/Debit Card (Front)
Requested Document: Copy of Credit Card Statement
Requested Document: Proof of Name and Address
Requested Document: Government Issued Photo ID

=

lame.

basically ePass just stole $100k. all phishers, scammers, spammers, anon ppl are not going to send any of that info in and their accts are just gunna lamp w $ in them.

what happens if you dont send in any info?

although, im sure some handy photoshop skills would come into play perfectly here.

facialfreak 04-30-2008 09:26 PM

I just got this too!!!

I have had an account with epassporte for several years with no problems/chargebacks/nada!

Half of the stuff they want from me I DON'T FUCKING HAVE!!! (paypal debit card that is long expired ... and thus I cannot give them a copy of CC statement for same reason ...drivers license is under supension, and is/was my only government issued photo ID ...)

My damn bank never has requested this much info from me!!!

And I move a couple thousand dollars a month thru epassporte ... and now it is FROZEN ...

MY FUCKING RENT IS DUE TOMORROW !!!!!

THIS IS NOT FUCKING COOL AT ALL !!!!:mad:

Where is Michael with a response??

Here's the thing ... the debit card attached to my epassporte was my paypal mastercard (no monthly statements) ...

Twelve days ago, paypal notified me that Mastercard had canceled a block of cards that a merchant had reported a compromised card in ... (apparently it is standard procedure from Mastercard) ... so after arguing with the paypal rep for 30 minutes, and being transferred to a supervisor, Paypal agreed to send my replacement card by DHL courier two days later ... so no I had not updated the attached card yet ... :(

The second problem I have is that my driver's license is currently under suspention - I had to surrender it to the court ... and this is/was my only government issued photo ID -- I don't own a passport.

A good 30-40% of my income arrives through epassporte ... so yes I rely on part of this money to pay my bills.

{/end of rant} :Oh crap

So true...

baX 05-01-2008 12:32 AM

"No documents are requested at this time."

my acc is over 3 years old and looks like I'm OK to go (for now)

HAPPYPEEKERS 05-01-2008 12:33 AM

WOW.. they do want alot of info :(

polish_aristocrat 05-01-2008 12:40 AM

didn't get this message yet

BUT... question to those who got it - how much time does Epassporte give you to send the documents, until they freeze (?) your account?

Vittorio 05-01-2008 12:41 AM

Epassporte better get it's ass in here and explain this shit, THEN DROP IT, or it's gonna lose all their business. I sure ain't for HELL going to give them all the docs they requested. Easier to by a $1M Co-Op in NYC!!!!!!!!!!

Persius 05-01-2008 12:50 AM

Ive had my account for years and got this too.... ugh annoying

Darkhorse 05-01-2008 02:34 AM

This should be standard for all new accounts, whats the bet I could open a new account now not have to provide the info scam 10 people then fuck off....

kapopoy 05-01-2008 03:08 AM

what happened if you don't submit all those documents?

ThumbLord 05-01-2008 03:24 AM

I think, kapopoy, they will freeze your account and you lost all your funds?

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 05-01-2008 04:09 AM

glad i don't have to deal with this garbage right now

RayBonga 05-01-2008 04:19 AM

This sucks big time and I fail to see how fucking with people that have been their members for years and never had any problems is eithr good business or helps prevent fraud.

Lets see if anyone from epass will post in GFY in the next couple of days (I highly doubt that they will)

u-Bob 05-01-2008 04:37 AM

"No documents are requested at this time."

HairToStay 05-01-2008 05:03 AM

The 2 credit cards I have on file are Mastercard. I clearly states next to them that they no longer take Mastercard for loads. Yet they demand a copy of the front and back of the card I can't use?

Why do I have a feeling someone at ePass made an error and this should have gone to new accounts or something?

Mine have been active for years and years

xxweekxx 05-01-2008 07:25 AM

epass sux

Probono 05-01-2008 07:44 AM

You all confuse me. I am not an Epassporte person, I use them like you do. Still there are threads here talking about fraud accounts on epass defrauding sponsors, fraud accounts stealing your money and transferring it to them.

Now they are finally acting like a real banking entity and asking for proof that you are real before allowing an account and you whine.

xxweekxx 05-01-2008 07:48 AM

we are whinning cuz Personally IVe had my act for years, no single chargeback, verified bank act, etc.

and now they want soem docs i dont even have:

They want:
Front and back of 2 credit cards i dont even have possession of anymore
utility bill
voided check
bank statement for 2 accounts
credit card bill
driver license

see what i mean?

I agree, the last frauders I terminated, when I dug deeper, I found them all over our system with over 25+ epassporte accounts. These type of regulations will hopefully solve/slowndown that.

J. Falcon 05-01-2008 08:15 AM

Michael O is gonna be busy with ICQ these next few days.

Well, epassporte has "issues". They have a very bad habit of losing/misplacing things. Nothing is simple with them and they have NEVER had the staff resources available to them to take care of regular business much less a mass "send in documentation request" I have sent epass emails, and they have answered them 3 months later (no joke).

Now, when I walked into my bank for the first time to open an account they asked me for my Social Insurance number and my drivers license. They recorded the information, but did not take photo copies of the information. I then was able to deposit and cash checks worth thousands of dollars based on that.

Now here comes epassporte that wants a copy of your credit card front and back. They want a copy of your drivers license or passporte. They want copies of your utility bills, they want copies of your bank statements, debit cards and credit card statements.

Now most people here want to know why so much info required? Then there is the issue of what are they going to do with the information? For example, I make a purchase online, and my credit card number is encrypted..no one knows it. But epassporte wants copies of my credit cards front AND back...they have the full card number, CVV2 number on the back AND the signature. Where are they going to keep this info? Who has this info? Will the info be secure? Keep in mind, this place has a nasty habit of "losing" the information they request and then they request it again.

So they want a copy of your recent bank statement? Credit card statement? Utility bill? They apparently want this to "verify": your address...but those statements contain a lot of personal information....that is no ones business...for example...it tells epassporte what your credit limit is..how much is owing on the card...where you shop...how much you spend...how much you have in your bank account.....how you spend your money..what you spend your money on.

Now some would think that is far too much information for the average company to keep, and where they keep it, and who has access to the information is important. With the information gain through this "verification" someone could take your credit card numbers, know exactly where you spend your money, and in essence they could make similar purchases to your account without alarm bells ringing to your credit card company. This information could also be sold to outside companies....who buys products online? Sell that information to companies to target you for phone sales, email sales...postal sales.. You get the idea.

Nicky 05-01-2008 08:52 AM

I got this one too :( Had my epass for 5 years.....

jscott 05-01-2008 09:35 AM

I think it's great they are acting more like a bank, and I still LOVE epassporte no matter what, but I just wish they'd give more time than just 1 month to come up with these documents, I am far away in a foreign land, so for me to get ahold of actual paper bank statements to send to them will take me a LONG time

Vittorio 05-01-2008 01:11 PM

Where the FUCK is the epassporte rep...?
