Obama breaks with Wright

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/30/us...html?th&emc=th

He went 20 years without noticing, yet when it started to threaten his chances in the election, he made a 180 degree turn. So much for the idea of a politician who won't do whatever it takes to get into office, even if it includes deception and flip-flopping.

Of course, Hillary and McCain would have done exactly the same. Still, Obama's pretending to be different makes it a bit bitter.

Hmm. Possible, but I don't think so.

I can imagine how someone like Wright could have a strong pull for a young, idealistic man - something I'm sure Obama was. Wright isn't just a reverend, he is also a political activist who uses religion to spread his ideas.

That is life in the USA right now. When the inbred idiots hang on such stupid shit you have to do what you have to do. I'd love it if he pandered his ass off to get elected then on the day he takes office holds a press conference to say "psych!"

Holly 04-30-2008 06:54 AM

I watched Obama's puppy-dog-sad press conference on CNN yesterday. I bet he wishes he could have him killed.

Even though he's been saying it for months, I still don't understand this- "He's not my spiritual adviser. He's my pastor."

Does that make sense to anyone else? How can someone be your pastor, and not be your fucking spiritual adviser?? Isn't that basically the very definition of a pastor?

I hate to say it, but Wright needs a bullet to the head. Unbelievably conniving and shitty to pull the crap that he has over the last few days. Maybe some fanatic will take him out.

LiveDose 04-30-2008 06:57 AM

Did you see that fucker's pad? Living like a pimp just by running his stupid mouth.

Life is funny...

He's selling a fucking book for profit, not for Jesus, that's what's happening period

Throwing potentionally; the first black presidential candidate under the bus, just shows
his backward style thoughts.

May I add I am a republician.

Mccain and Clintons freinds are WAY more fucked up and their beliefs are much more out there. It really sucks that simple minded people let the media control their beliefs. For that reason our country is in the sad state it is.

I think I would prefer a person that has never been to church...

We call this "Cuttin' Bait" down here in the south.

Quote from Barack Obama towards Rev. Wright
“His comments were not only divisive and destructive, but I believe that they end up giving comfort to those who prey on hate, and I believe that they do not portray accurately the perspective of the black church,” Mr. Obama said, his voice welling with anger. “They certainly don’t portray accurately my values and beliefs.”

Here's how I see it... To make the most out of this situation something had to "Change". The comments that Obama made were designed to show voters his ability to make a "Change" in his personal life that is not only positive but necessary to show that he himself has the ability to "Change" for the better thus proving that his mantra for positive "Change" has indeed started at home.

Obama's strength is his eloquence of delivering the right speech at the right time and being able to spin anything necessary to support his ticket for "Change"

Just my :2 cents: worth.

When the race pulls closer, he'll denounce being (partially) black, stating that it's just a tan, and he was just trying to play the fence.

SoloGirlsContent 04-30-2008 09:44 AM

DaddyHalbucks 04-30-2008 10:00 AM
