I admit it, I copy/paste/strip the refcodes.

I strip the codes too, and for mainstream, on the extremely rare occasion I might be interested in a click ad, I will type in the url rather than click it :1orglaugh

Supz 04-29-2008 10:56 PM

Some people around here use "magic links" so that doesnt work. :2 cents: :Oh crap

VeriSexy 04-29-2008 11:01 PM

Should have made this a poll, I bet many strip the aff. id when joininng a sponsor

pornask 04-29-2008 11:17 PM

I strip aff codes almost religiously

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 04-29-2008 11:19 PM

unless the person is doing me a favor by referring me, i strip all webmaster refcodes.

gadabout 04-29-2008 11:19 PM

some yes some no it depends on what it is

PenisFace 04-29-2008 11:22 PM

If I sign up for a sponsor after seeing someone whoring it in a thread with their refcode, I'll look at the posters name. Basically, if they list 10 sponsors and have either a :thumbsup or a :pimp, I will get rid of the ref code. If they list one, and feature no fucking emote's, I'll generally leave the ref code in.... :thumbsup:pimp

Everyone feel free to strip this code when you sign up:

Th3Boss 04-30-2008 01:51 AM

i dont use the ref codes unless its along with good unique info/content

Bdiddy 04-30-2008 01:53 AM

why strip the code?

That old mentality, "If I'm not making any money then no one else should!!" ...except you do you make money which is the sad thing. Well, some people at least.

cem 04-30-2008 01:54 AM

stripper here

AnneT 04-30-2008 02:01 AM

er...why?

Horny Alf 04-30-2008 02:20 AM

if its a friend or i like the person ill use their refcode, otherwise im stripping it.

timoxxl2 04-30-2008 02:22 AM

why are you all so mean :-(

Sarah_Jayne 04-30-2008 03:06 AM

I would never go so far to strip out a code but if it is mainstream I would probably click on the actual sites page on a SE result than the paid for links.

Inter-Sex 04-30-2008 03:15 AM

I'm too lazy for strip the reff, also i hope that the other makes some money.
Why leave this money in the sponsors pocket. :)

Jens Van Assterdam 04-30-2008 03:17 AM

I click the ref.. doesnt hurt my pocket and when i ask for some specific stuff and someone posts his link with his, its just fair to sign up under him :)

bausch 04-30-2008 03:18 AM

Depends on my fucken mood. If Im in a bad mood I fucken strip it. It also depends if I like the person or not. If it's someone I dislike for whatever reason or if they irritate me I strip the webmaster id off. If they were nice to me I might leave it on. I might also leave it on if I feel sorry for them...

if i ask and someone takes the effort to respond with something that actually suits my request i sign up under them, plaind and simple. however, there are so many people here with huge cut and paste lists just waiting for a chance to spam their refcodes, that i tend to strip their afflink if i find something in their list that suits me. just out of spite.
