Paysite tours

Why does every paysite tour look the same? Every webmaster that creates a successful tour of their own makes about 2 HUGE pages, instead of several small ones. And they find better results. Why don't the sponsors catch on to this and start making tours with 2 HUGE pages? Am I missing something? Don't they work better?

You would have thought so but not always. Seems to depend a lot on the type of traffic and type of site being promoted. I find it strange because to me the 'cookie cutter' photoshop tours are as boring as hell. However for some sites they seem to convert far better so obviously the punters don't always think they are.

even with in the two page "tour" you have a lot of variation -

you have the four to 5 page - 800x600 - instant access tour (with email gatherer at the bottom) - and exit pop hell

you have the two page - all content gets clicked to join page

you have the two page tour - where content opens files
small variation on that - where content/movie player opens in seperat window - continuing to sell the site as the video plays.

and then you have the sites that try to get the surfer to fall in love with the girls personality - cam girl type sites sometimes fall into this - a great example (with out self promoting) is suicidegirls.com

hell ... if you count up all the pages we have in our free area - it's probably something on the order of - 85-90 "tour" pages ... fairly unconventional - but the focus is still - driving the guy to pull out his cc

I've even done some variations on this. For example:

http://www.dg-designs.org/sites/fetishknots/index.html

has one long page and then moves into a short page tour.

http://www.dg-designs.org/sites/amat...uts/index.html

has two long pages plus a join page.

I think it is goos to mix things up.

The pages don't need to be HUGE, I think.
As long as it's a little bit different..

Most surfers that get the ordinary 800x600
tour pages with only images just close the window
without to wait for the graphics to show up.

If the layout is different the surfer may wait a moment to
see what the site is all about. Maybe he like it so much
that he find it worth paying for. We have noticed this
with our own site www.partygirls.tv - that is kind of different.
