Q: Does anal sex cause the anal sphincter to become loose? Does anal sex cause anal incontinence? A nurse told a friend of mine that they are seeing more and more gay guys with anal sphincter problems.

A: Apparently it can have that effect. Even if not total incontinence, it may lead to some leakage. I would guess that the extent of the damage might depend on the number of times a person had anal sex, and the size of the penis, though I don’t know that for sure.
