but if this was epassporte (meaning: instant transfer of funds) and if someone told me "you'll get the money in a day or so" I'd ask again in 3 days I think

unless this was a substantial amount and I had my reasons not to trust them, then I'd ask earlier

with check, wire you need to add some days for the check/wire to arrive to you so it's hard to say

I think it means 3-4 days. If they meant 1-2 days, they would say "a day or two". Factor in weekends and you'll be waiting about a week.
