Best free trade script?

What do you think is the best free trade script?

I am looking to replace one and I am looking for a free script that has a paid version, preferably php and I need to be able to change the style and color of the forms and pages.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

I'm very happy with smart traffic trader

nation-x 04-26-2008 05:32 AM

thousands of hacked sites using arrow scripts say to me that using Sloth Trader is a better idea... http://www.slothtrader.com

That can happen to any script though, new exploits come out daily. I'd still recommend SlothTrader over AT3, but for a different reason. AT3 has a lot of bells and whistles, but it lacks in the most fundamental area for a trade script, it doesn't trade too well. Sloth does a much better job at that.

Sloth doesn't have a toplist or groups, but the pages look easy enough to customize.

I'd rather have the toplist run by the tradescript though. Groups, I can deal with in another way.

You might want to look again, it does support multiple toplists. :winkwink:

The Sloth is a beautiful animal.

Oh yea, I see it now in setup > help.

I looked around the admin area and didn't see any toplist templates, or toplists on the demo site. Now I see the macros and how to set them up :)

I assume you're running it.

How does it compare to the C++ scripts in speed and load handling?

Thank you,

YP

A script being written in C/C++ is, in today's market, no longer anything more than a marketing gimmick. PHP/MySQL have evolved a lot in the past years and so has hardware. 5-6 years ago a script written in a compiled programming language might have given you a visible advantage in terms of speed and load. Today, I don't think anyone but programmers anally obsessed with statistics would notice any difference.

As a matter of fact, if it's good code against shit code, the good code will almost always be better. PHP is interpeted, C/C++ isn't (beyond linking libraries at runtime), but the people who are making these comparisons are usually remembering 1997 and how show it was to dynamically load Perl. These days, PHP and Perl both have an interpeter directly in the webserver, and with pseudocode cashing as offered by APC, you're likely to have less overhead of program written in C/C++, unless it's actually a well written application which supports FastCGI, which basically (but not technically) does what APC does for PHP.

PHP as a cgi, though, is unlikely to be much more expensive than a non-fastcgi binary. We're not running at 200Mhz in 64MB, anymore.

That said, C is generally harder for people to shit together; there's structure, requirements, different types of formats, so it has a higher requirement of learning, so they're more likely to be constructed by somebody who has had formal experience as a programmer.

Proton TM - VERY advanced script. Built-in thumbs rotator.
Progress TM - simpler, but still has tons of features:
use PHP
doesn't use MySQL
doesn't use crontab at all.
Installation in just ONE click.
Powerful anti-cheat features! Hitboters have no any chances.
Trade by groups
Customizable algorythm of trade (advanced). Very good settings by default, for fast growing and stable trade.
Dynamic trade schemes
Blacklist ( :) domains, domains by mask, emails, name servers, servers' IP, webmasters' IP)
'user's external info' feature (it's unique ;) )
Toplists (advanced options)
and much, much, really much more :)
'Free' version skims only 0.8%, without any country preferences, like some other scripts do ;) Prices for 'Pay' versions: $99 for the first copy and $69 for all other. 'Server licence' option.
English/German versions of the site translating at the moment, will be ready very soon. Admin area completelly English.
I can't post URLs here yet, so please contact me anytime at 103468856 for additional info and help.

ATX costs $400 and I already had the script installed on that site when I decided I'd try Sloth, since ATX wasn't doing well enough at trading.

As for how many clicks it counts and whatever other features, they're great for people who are new to ATX and spotting cheaters. They still don't make the script trade better.

nation-x 04-27-2008 05:39 AM

The key to keeping a site clean is to close your forms and manually add trades yourself... if the trader can't send you an icq or email then he/she won't be a worthwhile trade anyway in my opinion.

I use sloth exclusively at this point for a simple reason... I don't have to babysit my sites...

The Judge 04-27-2008 06:56 AM

When it comes down to finding cheaters ATX has no competition
