So, how many of you are caving on the freeones extortion?

They both need each other equally. 50 - 50. Without one the other is worthless. Greed is what started this bullshit, now programs have slashed each others throats by kissing the asses of the other side of the 50% coin.

Maybe sponsors should start cutting percentages because of the margins lost to the rising costs of producing content.

Programs are welcome to not accept the offer. I don't see how it is extortion.

CaptainHowdy 04-24-2008 09:22 AM

To remain profitable is a basic human need...

woj 04-24-2008 09:28 AM

Problem is that sponsors are dime a dozen, while affiliates who can send more than a few sales to a sponsor per day are pretty hard to find...

tranza 04-24-2008 09:32 AM

There are 1 million programs out there. And only a handful of really big sites with quality traffic.

If you have good traffic and can send sales in this day and age I have no problem talking to you. It's not like affiliates don't work hard, and if they are working hard for YOU then there's nothing wrong with rewarding them!

:)

Offer and demand
This is what control the market

Not who needs what

gideongallery 04-24-2008 09:52 AM

so now fair market exchange is considered extortion

if you don't like it you still have the ability to go somewhere else
it not like freeones is the only directory on the internet.
They hold no monopoly on the traffic, they have built a reputation and are maximizing the value of that reputation.

aint that the truth.... unless your have really fucking awesome exclusive content that no one else has... like www.eurorevenue.com does. ;)

Agent 488 04-24-2008 10:33 AM

the programs are free ignore their offer and build up a site with traffic volume and quality comparable to freeones.

quesadilla 04-24-2008 10:46 AM

look at all these responses by affiliates and people probably planning to do the same to sponsors.

where are all the program people and content producers?

all i see is traffic (50% of the equation) saying fuck sponsors.

oh thats right, programs are scared of affiliates.

pussies.

Traffic is King.

You can get rich with traffic alone.

Getting rich with content alone is not as easy.
