PS. Ofcourse IQ is a hopelessly limited way to define 'intelligence', it leaves out important stuff such as social intelligence and every test up to date has been too strongly culturally influenced to be of any relevance.

I did a couple of the online IQ tests. I scored 141, and 145 in two different tests. I have no idea how accurate those are, though.

It all depends on the test in question, for instance iqtest.com seems to have as a motto 'everyone can be a genius!', while others are a lot harder. The best way to find out is to do a number of tests and compare the results.

(minor note: I still don't agree with the concept of iq tests now used, being culturally biased and leaving out essential characteristics of intelligence, but they can be fun to do)

Punkworld, did you read "The Bell Curve"?

I haven't read it yet, but I've heard about it.
However, my thoughts on the issue are most certainly not that there aren't substantial differences between people in things such as intelligence, but more that I question the intelligence tests currently in practice and their very limited view of intelligence.
I would not dare to state that intelligence and its various aspects can't be tested, but I do think the current testing methods do not suffice. They may give a rather crude indication, but they most certainly do not give a full view.

One of the more interesting sections of "The Bell Curve" details the high correlation between people's results on any IQ test.

I scored a 139 and I know it had to do with all those questions like:

This guy is so "smart" he can't even distinguish between "stupid webmasters" and "bored webmasters fucking around".

Well, sure, get a bigger sample and you'll usually have more finely tuned results....there are more posters here than any other board, so you would have to figure a certain number of idiots that might not be represented in a smaller sample....

actually, my theory is that there aren't as many posters on other boards, so if only 2 or 3 are morons, it's probably not as glaring as a board with 200-300 morons (and significantly more posters)

You see a lot of swearing, fucking around and nonsense posts from people on this board, but the same person then goes to a 100% business related board and acts mature and civil. Maybe your naive or just stupid if you actually judge someones character/intelligence based on a few posts here.
