My Puppy's first time at the beach

Took my puppy to the beach the other day and he loved it. It was cool to watch his natural instincts kick in as we played fetch in the water. He's curious about everything and wore himself out chasing the birds and playing in the water. He would even stick his head underwater and try to pick up shells on the bottom :upsidedow

I saw a yellow lab on TV once that could swim down and grab something off the bottom in the deep end of a swimming pool. It would spiral down as it dog paddled underwater :1orglaugh

Strickie 04-23-2008 10:05 AM

awesome looking dog! he's probably dying to go back

We had a golden that would do that. We could throw his toys in the pool (the ones that did not float) and he would dive to the bottom of the pool to go get them.

good looking dog man, i got a river in my backyard and my dog jumped in it the other day, first time in the water and loved it. my parents dog that asshole will dive in off of docks and stuff, such a freak, once it jumped out of my truck window as soon as it seen the lake

This one is a jumper too. I'd really like to get a picture of him as he launches off a dock into a lake after his tennis ball. A lot of variables have to come together to get that shot :winkwink:

pornmasta 04-23-2008 03:54 PM

Sosa 04-23-2008 03:55 PM

looks like the dog had fun! Our lab loves water and always plays around in it in the year. Hopefully get to a lake this summer and see what he does there.

Nice Labbie.

My 7 month old chocolate just went for his first swim last week, now he won't stay out of the water. He tries to jump in the shower with me now.

crockett 04-24-2008 11:08 PM

I had a Siberian Husky that would stick it's head under water and bark at the fish.

TroubleTonya 04-24-2008 11:18 PM

Awe, what a nice looking goldie you have there. They are very smart dogs. We had one that would take her own leash and walk to the dog run, drop the leash, do her business then pick the leash back up and go home. LOL

Sorry, I was out walking the dog

I used a Canon 20D with a Canon 70 - 200mm 2.8 lens. I had my hands full throwing the ball and then grabbing the camera to get a few shots before he returned to get me all wet :winkwink:

MediaGuy 04-25-2008 06:57 AM

LOL

Beautiful.

That's no puppy, you coddler, you...

tranza 04-25-2008 07:02 AM

That's no puppy..

But cute pictures anyway..

:)

G.A.F 04-25-2008 07:11 AM

Marley suits him.
It's a lovely dog. When you mentioned "puppy" I imagined a little dog that can fit in a shoe box :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh But I guess he's a little bigger than that.

My dog could jump up to +2mts to get his tennis ball we always put on top of the wall that separate our frontyard from our neigbours's. He jumped and then walk 1 or 2 steps in the wall to get higher. :)

He was born 6 / 29 / 07 which makes him about 9 1/2 months old.

I'd say he's still a puppy and he sure acts like one :thumbsup

Those are spectacular photo's of a beautiful dog in action. Awesome share.

Ross 04-25-2008 07:53 AM

My dog is 4 years old last month and he still acts like a big puppy. He's a Golden Lab and so much fun. I worry tho everytime he goes into water, I know he can swim and I know he'll be ok but I just worry "what if.." Can't help it. Would love to take him to the beach but its always too cold here to do that.

Martin 04-25-2008 07:58 AM

Great pics, thanx for posting!

zabijaq 04-25-2008 08:16 AM

Cute dog and awesome photos.

Mutt 04-25-2008 08:23 AM

aw gee - those pics make me happy and sad - your dog is an exact replica of mine who passed away a couple of years ago. no breed beats a golden retriever - they are perfection as far as fun, humanity, obedience and everything else.

I'm sorry for your loss but happy that you've experienced the joy a Golden Retriever brings.

I read once " to share part of your life with a Golden Retriever is to live a little better " and that couldn't be more true.

Laurel 04-25-2008 02:10 PM

What a cute dog! Wish my dog would love the ocean. :(

Thanks man! I'm thinking of Nikon 80D and 18-200mm Nikon lens. Not cheap ... but I like to take photos as well. Thanks again! :thumbsup
