F1: Suzuka 2002
 

Ok, two weeks ago, I was SUPER pissed off by the finish that Schumacher orchestrated. I thought it was insulting to the rest of the drivers and teams. I'm a huge Schumacher fan, but disagree with that move. I said I wouldn't watch the Japanese GP, yet here I am, about to watch the start of the race. I guess once a fan, always a fan.

Let's just hope that this race is a good one. I don't care that Ferrari takes the win, I want to see some good racing. We had some great racing in the last one till the finish.

Hi,

I must say I enjoyed Takuma Sato's first ever points finish, in his home country. He was truely happy with tat result, and rightly so.

Schumi always acts as if he is ery happy, but I don't think it really makes him as happy as he wants us all to believe. Winning is too easy for him now, it can't be much fun.

Hopefully next year the other teams will have their act together and he will really have to fight for it again!

watching it right now...

2 weeks ago, ferraris lead was so dominant (as usual) that Schumacher decided to play games at the finish line. He slowed down to try and win by the smallest margin in F1 history. He missed it and lost the race to Rubens Barrichello. But I think it's an insult that they decide to play games like this at the end of a race.

I think he was paying him back for that "team's rule" finish that screwed Rueben's out of a win earlier this season. Neither finish should have happened, but it is not Ferrari's fault they have not been challenged this season. I remember when they couldn't beat Senna, even with Prost and Mansel - let them have their run, it won't last much longer.

Strangely, this weekend I happened to watch the Japanese GP with a bunch of Japanese. They went insane at Sato's performance...so all in all twas a good race, yet the Ferrari domination is getting tiresome.

Head said Montoya will contest for the championship next year in a revolutionary new car...that's something to look forward to...at least until the redwash in Australia.

Seems Montoya is only good enough to hit the walls...

I think this is why Rueben's contract states that he is the #2 driver(or at least this is what was reported on Speed TV when re signed his extension) - Ferrari doesn't want him busting Michael's chops. Better to finish 1-2 than to DNF because your driver's are warring it out.

Montoya is friends with Rueben's - I have heard a rumor that Ferrari would like to sign him if/when Michael retires from F1.

The ferrari dominance is not an issue. There's always a dominant team. Ferrari went a LONG time without a championship. It's the toying with the finish that I hate.

And I don't believe that it was a payback for the win that Rubens gave him. Firstly, it was already repaid to Rubens. Secondly, they were both surprised by the finish. Schumy thought he still won, he didn't try to lose it or else it would've been more deliberate. It wasnt' a team order either, it was Michael's decision.

As for Montoya, he's good enough to be a champion. He needs a good car to do it with though. He's brave enough to pass someone for the lead. He'd be an exciting champion, unlike Hakkinen and Hill who in my opinion, were champions because they had the best car. Schumacher at least proved himself with Benneton and the first championship with Ferrari.

I was really bored by that race. This year was the first season I missed 3 races on TV... since 5 oder 6 years or so...
