I don't know if this would work, but you could try setting up virtual PC - www.connectix.com - this allows you to run Windows in Windows.
I use it for clients who need to run DOS/Windows 9x on a Windows 2000/XP PC. You can download a trial, so it won't cost nothing to try but time and effort. Why not just get two PCs? If it's just for cam work, you don't need anything high end. |
I saw something on TechTv about this. Get different cameras (way cheaper than two different computers.) WinXP will recognize two different cameras if they use different driver sets. so, you cant have two logitechs, but you can have a logitech and another camera.

maybe install a cheap video capture board. so then you will have the the little webcam and whatever kind of camera running into the video capture board.
why can't you use one cam feed on two sites at the same time? they have special software that you have to use for each cam network? guess so. |
hey guys Thanks , I will be lookiing into it,
we Are about to fork out in the next few months for a couple cams and cards, but for now I have 2 logitechs, that work on different drivers, ( quickcam , VC) but the VC doesnt work in the XP platform , I know there is asoftware out there for 98 etc, but dont know about XP basically the old software (forgive I forget the name) would allow you to run two cam sites at the same time without the first taking totall control over the feed thanks for your help guys :thumbsup |

Look at http://www.chillcam.com and http://www.webcam32.com , I'm sure they had to have updated to XP by now. Chillcam worked better for 2 identical cams in the past but test them both to see. Chillcam worked better as you could run it on top of itself.
We found that the computer hardware has an awful lot to do with how either perform. :) I'm not going to swear that chillcams addy above is correct. lol |

So I'm wondering what software is out there to help me work two web cams on one pc. I've tried the links about but their not what I'm looking for (thanks guys thouch ,much appreaciated) :) |
If it is to get around ifriends software do this.
Put 2 network cards in your pc along with two capture cards. Get your isp to assign you 2 IP addresses. Run a camera splitter into each capture card or a cam into each capture card and you will be set. If the cam site isnt as picky as ifriends. Then just look into the Osprey videocapture cards. They are fully capable of running more than one stream at a time. They to work with xp. |
