I haven't listened to Stern for a long time. What had happened to Artie? Why did he leave in the first place?

the day before they went a on a week long vacation ( 100th time this year it feels ) artie got into a huge fight with his assistant and 'attacked" him in the studio
and howard told him he cant have it so artie said he quit

my belief it was all a stunt to get more subscribers to howard tv but whatever... he is back
