My designers send me all the fotns with each design so I have built up a library of 1000+ fonts already

Well in the old days... we had to buy fonts... as the internet wasn't around.

do you own fontographer? If you don't, get a copy, it will allow you to make your own fonts. What I do with it is modify current fonts to look the way I want.

If you are into art, you will enjoy this.

i have thousands of fonts like everybody else - well not thousands but a couple hundred I like - but i was looking for something different and Google led me to a paid font site and I liked some - they're only 3 bucks each. i've seen commercial font sites that charge up to 30 bucks for a font.

what font? and how much was it?

Please put in on a server somewhere and post a link here so we can all download, and avoid the $3 charge in the future... Thanks

anyways .. it didn't cost ya a fortune. Its alright to buy something if you need urgent and it not available for free anywhere. Being cheap is a plus.

I have done the same Mutt, do not feel to ashamed. Actually I have many paid fonts, I remember many years ago buying CD's of fonts. Then got a font manager cause I have so damn many of them.

I've seen those $30 font sites as well. Definitely not paying that much for a font.

Same here...I remember buying font CDs back in the BBS daze - the vast majority of which were clones of one another...or worse, utter garbage. I think there's still a few dusty disks on the office shelf here somewhere.

I remember years ago when Adobe would make periodic audits at my old shop to see if all of our fonts were licensed properly on our different computers.

Actually there is no copyright on a font. They can only copyright the name, that's why all those font sites get away with it. He can just change the name and give it away for free..

You know, $3.00 is a damn good deal, especially when a font can make or break a logo. I'd pay $3.00 for sure if I really liked a font and wanted to use it in a design.

I can generally find something good enough on those two free sites, though.

Yup...

$3 isn't bad for a font, I'd pay that. Most the time fonts I like run $24.95+ and just doesn't seem worth it when a designer can send it over or google.
