You HAVE to See This Movie!

SECRETARY, starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Spader.

It's the story of a disturbed young woman who deals with her problems by inflicting injury on herself (cuts, burns). She goes to secretarial school and lands a job for a solo attorney. The attorney is very anal and idiocentric, and she is a submissive blossom waiting to be plucked.

The erotic tension and the glacial pace at which their dom/sub relationship unfolds is almost mind-numbingly delicious.

James Spader is perfect as the boss who tries without success to resist his impulses, and Maggie Gyllenhaal turns in an Oscar-worthy performance as the girl who doesn't want him to stop.

Maggie is one of those women who, like Claire Danes, manages to be gorgeous despite being rather plain. She does have a good body, but you don't see very much of it until the end of the movie. It doesn't matter, there is so much implied eroticism throughout this story that I pretty much felt like I needed a cold shower from about 20 minutes in until the end. Seeing Maggie turn from a mousy ragamuffin into a hot tamale is just amazing.

I would nominate the scene where he first spanks her for a typo in one of the letters she typed as one of the 10 most erotic scenes in film history. (And, BTW, she thereafter starts putting intentional typos in the letters so she can be spanked some more.)

This is one date flick that is likely to result in some serious fun once you can get your partner in private.

This is not a mystery. You would have guessed that she'd do this from her reaction to being spanked. Unless you're a total idiot, of course. If you're an idiot, I apologize.

City of God is insane! It's just an incredible movie. It's being released in the U.S. by Miramax and I agree about the Foreign Language Oscar comment.

No, you need to see "Battle Royale" sadly, it hasn't picked up a US distributor....it's readily available on EBay, but most are without subtitles, but this flick doesn't need them.

Imagine a futuristic society (but doesn't look like Blade Runner) where overpopulation and juvenile crime is at an all time high...then they have this great idea to stage a fight to the death where 9th graders are dumped on an island to fight it out unitl one is left...and to ensure no ones tries to help the others, they are equipped with exploding collars...You gotta hand it to the Japanese...an American movie company wouldn't have the balls to make a movie like this. The schoolgirl shootout is one of the most disturbing things I've seen...you'll never look at asian schoolgirl content the same way again. While I don't necessarily advocate piracy, do what it takes to see this movie (since it's currently unavialable in the US. Maybe we can form a cartel to buy up the distribution rights to this gem of a movie. It's not for everyone's tastes and surely any form of release in the States would be met with a lot of protests. Damn good flick. Check it out.

You can download it on Kazaa, with subtitles.

I already have it on VCD...but yeah, findable on Kazaa too...this is where Kazaa can be of some benefit...finding obascure foreign films that aren't available at all in the United States...

I recently ordered "Brother" which is done by the asme company as "Battle Royale"

Here is a good online review of the flick (which basically sums up the way I feel about the movie)

Arrow is also my favorite online critic and one of the few critics who's reviews I use for my own movie viewing pleasure..fuck Roger Ebert, Arrow does it better and he loves the same types of movies as I do: slashers, blood, boobs, cheesy monsters, etc. Definately check him out before hitting the video store in search of horror treasures (or just hit me up for my opinion ;)))

I think we now know a little more about Unseens sexuality.

Personally I would rather she spank me, Eva hurry up and get them boots on, I found the whip:Graucho
