Business Question.. Is harvesting e mails on a tour a traffic leak?
Do you consider it a traffic leak if a paysite has a "join our mailing list" box on the page?
Yes or no? Please be honest |
not really not a huge issue
|
100% yes. Only if you don't tack the affiliate ID on to any mailings you do.
If you do, then it's an upsell or a SAVE. |
Depends on what happens after the user presses the submit button.
|
And to answer they pay rev share not PPS
|
YES. Using any traffic sent by the affiliate without giving the affiliate credit is THEFT. Plain and simple.

When I see these, I check the for my aff. ID in the form coding. If I don't see it, they don't get traffic. What really bothers me is when sponsors add the boxes AFTER the fact - after I start sending traffic (footers on hosted galleries seem to be a popular place to add them when they see fit). |

Thank you for subscribing to the Newsletter. The rest is a blank white page |

I wonder, are there any sponsors who credit joins from emails I sent them? |

Depends on what they do with the e mail addy. Do they include your ref code with all mailings? If they don't then YES it's a traffic leak and is stealing.
