I saw The Cult yesterday...

And they still rock the house.

I've seen them 3 times now and seems Ian sings better each time...but he doesn't really move anymore.

Billy duffy is as good as ever.

The songlist was great!

I have always liked The cult.

I am glad you had fun Pat!!!

I remember when they played the Spectrum back in the mid 80s.
They were better then IMO.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the show Pat!

They came to a small club here a year or so ago and my friend saw them. He said the concert was AWESOME!

I'm a huge Cult fan! My cover band was all over their shit from the mid 1980's on. "She Sells Sanctuary", "Love Removal Machine", "WildFlower", "Fire Woman" Great band! I saw them for the first time in 15 years about a year ago, on DirecTV on that concert channel that DTV has. I didn't even know they were on, I was just surfing through and saw it and stopped my channel surfing and watched the whole concert from some venue in L.A. And you're right, they STILL kick ass!
That was also right about the time that Ian was going to become the lead singer for the reformed DOORS (he would be perfect for that) until the lawsuit stopped that project dead in it's tracks.
And yeah, Billy Duffy is great and has always been one of my favorite guitarists both in tone and choice of notes and aggressiveness. :)

they opened with Fire Woman...and closed with the obvious She Sells Sanctuary. But they also played songs from old albums that weren't on the Greatest hits, such as Nirvana and the amazing The Phoenix...

Hey chris,

I agree the albums were much better back then although the last album is surprisingly accurate and really rock. But the band knows it and play 90% old material.:thumbsup

The Cult will always be one of my favorite bands but I have yet to see them live. I kick myself every time I miss them playing LA

VikingMan 04-17-2008 08:47 AM

I really like The Cult. Too bad when i saw them they were opening up for AC/DC. Nobody wanted to listen The Cult so the energy sucked.
