damn .. my buddy just got 5 years in a US jail .. someone who knows the actual truth behind it all but "someone loaded some pot into the trailer of his 18 wheeler and was stopped at the boarder .. "

tough for his wife and family ..would it be in bad taste to ask for his truck .. ? lol

Come on thats a 10 year minimum sentence, no choice from judge. If it was of any real quantity, someone made one hell of a deal. That is federal pound you in the ass prison where there is no time off for good behavior etc.

Obviously running non-sealed loads across boarders has it's risks.

Well actually while there is usually not time off for good behavior in federal prison, you're much less likely to get pounded in the ass there....as opposed to state prison.

Not as bad as it would be to ask for his wife.

Wow what a coinky dinky my buddy got 5 years too for a dirty test while on probation. He signs tomoro. Sux cuz we both have 5 month old daughters :(

Now I have to handle his mainstream biz and report to him in the pokey.

Whether you get reamed involuntarily is still a matter of the prison population, which isn't nearly as bad in federal prison.

2 of the 3 charges were dropped .. and ya not sure why he only got 5 years with the plan to actually move him to Canada in 18 months with extradition (we'll see about that)... truck and trailer are gone .. the "story" actually goes ..and this is through his lawyer .... he purchased and picked up a brand new trailer from the yard loaded his cargo .. went to the boarder ..busted .. the trailer had some weird hidden compartment ..they X-ray random trucks at the boarder .. his was one .. that catch is .. the vin # on the trailer didn't match the one he ordered and supposedly purchased .. so there was possibly the ole' switcheroo pulled and well thats what he's telling me .. he does have an awfully nice house though for being a truck driver .. :s

I know someone that was busted with 24 lbs and got off with a few years probation.

no shit .. funny thing is .. he was engaged and for some reason his g/f said lets wait and see how this whole jail thing works out .. BWHAHA .. she actually said to him "she will wait" ... I have known her for many years and even more B/Fs actually met him through her ..hell he's the only reason we are friends with them ... and I know she can't go 4 months without having her ankles in the air .. let alone 5 years ...
And back to the POT... i heard it was over 500 Lbs..

For him to have cut a deal and only get 5 years, he new of something that was interesting to the feds, and it must have worked out. Or the deal would be off.

Thankfully our prison system is so overcrowded a 5 year stint will end up more like 1-2 years with good behavior and everything else factored in.
