What is that silver box I always see in the back of peoples trucks?
 

I've always wondered this. In many trucks they will have a silver box in the back. Is that a sound system or is that a box to put stuff in. A lot of trucks I have this, I always wanted to know what that was.

its a tool box.. usually for construction workers to store their tools in so they aren't rolling around the box of the truck bagging to be stolen

If you ask around, most will "say" it's a toolbox as to not incriminate themselves. But those in the know, know differently...

its where they keep the body parts. lol

OMG must be that I am from South Carolina and about 1/3 people here drives a truck, but yeah it's a toolbox

HAHAHA... this thread cracks me up. My dad had one of these all my life while I was growing up. What did he have in there? The world may never know. But I do!

Why is this?

I never drove a truck before and I don't really know anyone who drives one with those silver boxes in the back. Why is it so weird that I don't know what it is? I was just never exposed to it before. I don't know too many people who drive trucks, most drive regular cars.

toolbox, although if you're in the midwest you'll find high school idiots that put a subwoofer in them or keep their amp in there.

Mine is a tool box as well as extra fuel tank.

Booze storage. That way when you get pulled over by the cops they don't see a case of beer sitting in your back seat, or sliding around in your box.

But most people do use them for tools.

Me, I make my kids sit back there. Keeps them quiet.

So does the truck come equipped with the tool box or do they actually install their own box in there...
