I'm having homemade chicken pot pie for dinner tonight. We made a bunch of mini pot pies in mini pie tins and froze them.

Mmm... delicious, I can't wait.

Back when I was a housewife I made homemade chicken pot pie all the time. Cooked the chicken, homemade pastry, cooked the veggies in the chicken broth.....I don't do that any more, but it sure was good :)

While I'm one to agree with you, my fiancee has a tendency to complain every time I suggest using the oven for any cooking when it's greater than 90 degrees outside.

Im lucky if the oven or stove get used during the summer months. Its all about the outdoor "kitchen".

We cheated. We bought piecrust and we used chicken breasts and frozen vegetables. It's still awesome. I'm sure everything made from "scratch" would be incredibly delicious as well.
