.ASIA process is a fucking joke

Every domain I went to register, and got it before anyone else, now has multiple applications supposedly, and going to auction.

Well after careful consideration, they can fuck right off. .asia, what a dumb fucking extension if ever there was one.

I was only speculating on them anyways

Whatever happened to first come first serve like every other domain extension? tossers.

Well it seems it's all a massive scam - how can sex.asia be snapped up already if I've only just got notification that mine are going to auction, when the process for all names hasn't even supposedly begun yet?

So some scumsucker at the asia registry is getting backhanders.

all the premium names have been taken in the domain auction that happened before the landrush occured - to be a part of the auction process, you needed to have some sort of official documentation that you live in an asian country (passport, drivers license, etc etc..) I've checked a dozen or so names recently, and all are registered, the rest will just be crap names with little or no typein value (no one is going to type in .ASIA unless its actually part of a word), so I personally haven't put much effort into it.

I live in Australia, which is classed as asia for them. They have full documentation from me, and I pre-registered those domains when it first kicked off. Believe me, the domains I went for are worth having.

Yeah i'm sure like domain kiting, registrars or people working for the registrar probably "registered" them and pulled them out of the pool before anyone else could touch them. Hard to say if that's happened...

Maybe they're thinking "Hey, 1,000 people tried to register wtfdomain.com, we should have auctioned that one damn.... okay, up for auction now, mafia style!"

I was just under the impression that it was first come first served rather than a bullshit auction process where the domain resellers are in their element. It's all money making horse crap. I hope .asia domains go the way of the other shite extensions out there.

Most every TLD launch since .INFO has been extremely fraud ridden / political - those who are on the "in" (connections / money) get most all the good names with the masses getting what's left over.

In my view, .ASIA is a waste of money anyways, since .ASIA is associated with nothing in particular beyond a huge somewhat undefined swath of the globe.

At the end of the day, .COM, and some select ccTLDs (ie. .UK, .DE, etc) will continue to dominate the domain name space.
