Apparently Epassporte is Leaving US Poker Market

Crazy. All of the poker websites suddenly no longer have it as deposit option. This was a HUGE part of their business. I hope everything is ok over there..

Probably a wise desicion rather than going through the shit.

I just hope it isn't a NETELLER situation. The US government froze ALL US Neteller accounts because they accepted poker transfers. The first thing that happened was exactly what is going on right now, no longer a deposit option on any of the poker sites, then a complete freeze on all accounts. If you call epassporte support they tell you they have no intention of leaving the US poker market even though Poker sites have issued statements to contrary. This exactly what Neteller did before everything shut down and the US government took all the funds.

To their credit, the epassporte card still works fine. I just suggest if you ever played poker with the account to get your money off asap.

They will continue to make millions without the gambling sites.has been too damn risky for about 2 years now

To all Cake Poker Customers:

We have received notice from ePassporte today that they are unable to continue to provide CakePoker with merchant e-wallet services. We have since confirmed that this situation is not unique to CakePoker and is, in fact, industry wide.

While we are disappointed with this decision, we want to reassure all players that there will be no impact to either your account balances or your account status at Cake. We are pleased to have launched earlier this week with a new payment processor and have already secured alternative processors/eWallets that we will be launching in the weeks to come. We are also in discussions with other providers that will be making their services available in the CakePoker cashier soon. Players are welcome to inquire with Customer Support for more details.

As always, we value your business and will continue to make every effort possible to make your poker experience a great one.

Regards,

The CakePoker Team
Apparently Epassporte have told their support that its only a "technical issue" and to expect a influx in calls..yet cake poker send out the above email and all poker sites stop accepting epassporte..go figure.

Atleast one epass employee is saying their revenue from poker is a huge portion and could put their jobs at risk. This could get ugly for epassporte...

When did that Cake email go out, cuz I just withdrew my affiliate funds from both my FTP and Absolute accounts to ePassport within the past two days, with no problem....

rick-e 04-12-2008 05:19 AM

Using epassporte on Full Tilt Poker without any problems.
