My first attempt at vector art...whaddya think?
This is my first attempt at creating a vector image in Photoshop. Anyone got any tips? Suggestions? I'm new at this but want to get really good so even some constructive criticism would help.

Good job at a first attempt.

Give Adobe Illustrator a try - must easier for this time of work.
Looks good for your first attempt. Keep at it. Quote:

Hell of a lot better than I could ever do.

For a first try that looks fantastic. The above sentiment to give illustrator a try is spot on. It's a relatively simple program once you get used to where everything is and what it does.
Now for a little critique... If you change the opacity setting on the black lines on the lips to something around 25% it will have a much more natural look to it. Also, the coloring on the face needs some work. It doesn't look very natural. In Illustrator there is a predefined skintone swatch palette that is pretty good for selecting shading. A positive critique, the eyes look great! |
I'd hit it...

Looks pretty damn cool to me. :thumbsup
