My first attempt at vector art...whaddya think?

This is my first attempt at creating a vector image in Photoshop. Anyone got any tips? Suggestions? I'm new at this but want to get really good so even some constructive criticism would help.

Please be gentle. It's my first time. :winkwink:

Give Adobe Illustrator a try - must easier for this time of work.

Looks good for your first attempt. Keep at it.

Hell of a lot better than I could ever do.

For a first try that looks fantastic. The above sentiment to give illustrator a try is spot on. It's a relatively simple program once you get used to where everything is and what it does.

Now for a little critique... If you change the opacity setting on the black lines on the lips to something around 25% it will have a much more natural look to it. Also, the coloring on the face needs some work. It doesn't look very natural. In Illustrator there is a predefined skintone swatch palette that is pretty good for selecting shading.

A positive critique, the eyes look great!

Thanks for the critique! I do use Illustrator but since I'm not too familiar with it I get frustrated too easy and end up switching back over to Photoshop. I'm really comfortable with Photoshop. Maybe it's time to buckle down and just grind my way through it and learn. They're both Adobe products so the learning curve should be minimal.

Thanks to everyone that added input. And yes, that is Angelina Jolie. Who better to lose my vector virginity to? :pimp

I was just looking for a beautiful face so I did a Google image search for "Beauty" and click show only faces. Hers popped up and I went with it. :thumbsup
