How to quit my nasty habits?
I smoke cigs, drink alcohol, and smoke pot. I want to quit them all but I think that would put me into a serious tailspin. I was thinking about quitting in this order (based on what is worse).
- Cigs - Drinking - Pot How would you do it? None of them really do anything for me anymore, it's more of a habit now than anything. I've heard nightmares from people that just quit everything cold turkey so I was told to ween off one at a time. Anyone ever do this? |
If your gonna do it, just do it...
Or get yourself arrested and slung in Jail for a 6 - 8 month stretch... Amazing how easy it is to give up then... Me? I switched to poo... never looked back... |

You won't quit any of them until you're *really* ready for a lifestyle change. If you stopped drinking and smoking today, what would you replace them with? Are you seriously going to just do nothing all day? You're going to drive yourself nuts because there's nothing else to do.

quit pot, minimize drinking... You just gotta have an alternative activity to avoid those... Perhaps, joining some groups which requires physical attributes like sports will help you to move. :2 cents: |
Pick a half marathon or similar event to participate in! Challenge yourself to complete the training for it and then actually show up for the race. You'll find training for a marathon might put your smoking and drinking in perspective :)
