Coolest thing I've learnt today (wordpress permalinks)
I don't beleive this is new with 2.5, but i do know that alot of people don't realise the capabilities of permalinks.
To the point, the coolest thing I've picked up lately with wordpress is the ability to name pages and posts like static html pages. %postname%.html will produce hardlinks that look like www.domainname.com/i-fucked-your-mom.html. Naturally this can be used with any number of options as far as site structure, ie %post_id%/%postname%.htm Pretty simple and straight forward, now think about adding a cache plugin, to create a txt cache and substructure on your site, and using it as a page generator, or other "CMS" type applications. Gallery maker, "doorway" type pages etc. The possibilities increase with the ability to create "static" html pages, just use your imagination :) |
worth a look no doubt.......
thanks for the info |
Err you just learned of this? :error
I thought everyone used permalinks. |

I have been running wordpress for years, since it was b2brevolution (i think it was called) ,and permalinks for most likely as long, lol but i never attempted to set permalinks to run html pages (or appear to). |
i always used that structure, but never knew about the .html addition, thanks!
