FfVb - Firefox VBulletin extension update (say goodbye to contest threads)
Want to ignore a thread but not necessarily the person who made the thread??
No problem. The latest (beta) update to my extension will replace those useless status icons on the left of each thread with a checkbox. Check the box and that thread disappears. And stays disappeared. Say goodbye to contest threads or any other threads that you don't want to see. Check out the site for more: http://www.tycamtech.com/extensions/firefox/ffvb/ |
im not using firefox but sounds cool
always wanted to have a feature to 'check' a box next to some threads and never see them again |
This is a real winner. I just cleaned up the entire main page. Thanks!

Said it won't be installed because it doesn't offer secure updates.. when I tried. ('I'm using FF beta btw)

I'm trying to work around that with some hash/encryption stuff. Hopefully I can get that working for ya. |

Maybe try re-adding him? I'm not sure what to tell you, but... I will try to go through it all and see if I can get it ironed out. I'm glad you guys like it so far. More suggestions are always welcome :winkwink: |
I'm surprised there's still people who use that wannabe browser

I'm using FF3 beta 4 and maybe that's the isssue. |

Since I just started writing this, I haven't been able to test it in anything other than beta 5. I would imagine that beta 4 uses the same html structuring but who knows. Well, 2 beta's are bound to have problems I guess. I'll keep checking though. |

I got it to work. I just noticed you have to add the person to a ignore list on your extention. I assumed that it would using the boards ignore list. My lists on many boards is extensive to be adding names manually. How about an import feature?
|
Nice.but real ignore wil be not just to not see ignored person threads/post,real ignore will be to hide your posts from ignored person.

Go to the user ignore list in VB and click on the "Import Ignore List to Extension" button and your vbulletin list will be magically imported into the extension for you. this brings us up to ver 0.55. :thumbsup |

This seems to block images in the post as well.

I meant to say that this seems to block images in all posts.

You're the first to mention this... I can still see images. Try uninstalling the extension and see if the images return. If so, I'll take a closer look into the code. |
yep, thats the first thing I tried.
Using Firefox 3.0b5 on OSX Quote:

it would be cool if you had a community version, or one with friends, and u could ignore what your friends ignore
sort of like how you can follow what friends digg ;) |
Awesome, thanks bro!

Trying to mess with the powers that be Stuart? :winkwink:
Good job though! :thumbsup |

And thanks, although I noticed that it doesn't work on your board. It's due to the file naming structure that you use. My extension doesn't even know it's on a vbulletin site. :1orglaugh |

However, I am using Linux and not OSX. I wish I had a mac here to do testing with. |
No go on 3.0b5 for OSX, but no issues on Windows or Linux versions here.
Great script. |
Now it seems to be working on FF OSX. Not sure what I did.

Nice feature... good work.
|
Is it case sensitive?
|
Quote:
I tested on OSX version of Flock and it also works 100%, ignoring people and threads. |
Quote:
If you're using windows though, it should be able to handle usernames no matter what case you enter it in. |

Tried to install the latest version and I get
Firefox could not install the file at http://www.tycamtech.com/extensions/.../ffvb/ffvb.xpi because: Not a valid install package -207 |
Quote:
You may just need to uninstall and install again. A pain, I know... but it will keep your ignore list intact. FF3 is a bit of a pain still, hense the reason it's still in beta. |
