Lollapalooza anyone?
Anyone planning on going to Lollapalooza?
I just heard about the lineup tonight, ive been meaning to visit some people in Chicago and if youre into this music it's an awesome lineup. Some highlights for me: Rage Against The Machine Kanye West (daft punk is rumored to be with him) Wilco Radiohead NIN The Raconteurs Flogging Moley Lupe Fiasco Brand New (friends so i should support them) Gogol Bordella The Cool Kids Here is the site: http://www.lollapalooza.com/default.asp?fd=1 Thoughts? |
Dood... for serials it's back?
I might have to make a return to the concert circuit. |
I don't ever decide until right before it happens because you can't trust the line up at all. It'll change and change and change.

Grant Park in August, be prepared for all that heat and thousands of people!

Its not a tour.. Its just a single 3 day show in Chicago.. This line up would be worth the trip..
|
I'd def. go if I had the occasion with RATM headlining.

I attended Lollapalooza 92 and 94, and feel that the 92 line up was by far the best that the festival has had. Really, when are you ever going to get a line up like that again? On the main stage you had:
Red Hot Chili Peppers Ministry Ice Cube Soundgarden The Jesus and Mary Chain Pearl Jam Lush and performing on the side stage was: Jim Rose Circus Sharkbait Archie Bell Porno for Pyros Basehead Cypress Hill House of Pain Sweaty Nipples Arson Garden Seaweed Seam Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E. The Look Peopl Stone Temple Pilots Vulgar Boatmen Truly Skrew Tribe The Authority Samba Hell Café Tacuba Rage Against the Machine I have attended many live performances over the years. I have even been lucky enough to see some artists multiple times through different stages of their careers and witness first hand how their popularity evolved from playing small half empty bars to selling out 2 nights in a row at some of the largest stadiums in the world. After having attended 100's of live musical acts over the years I can honestly say that it will be really hard to top the talent that appeared at the 1992 Lollapalooza. The general atmosphere of the festival was just electrifying, even the rain couldn't dampen the spirits of those in attendance. Although the venue was an outdoor stadium it was held during the summer and even though it rained most of the day it was not cold. I attended the 1994 Lollapalooza as well, it was at a different location that was much smaller in size and not very well organized. There was also not a cloud in the sky and the heat was almost unbearable. I guess the people that organized the event had not anticipated the heat and concessions ran out of drinking water 2 hours into the show. Several people were treated for heatstroke and to top it all off the porta potties were all overflowing before the day was done. There were some good artists performing but it was a far cry from line up at the 92 event. I have yet to attend another show since that I have enjoyed as much as I did at the 1992 Lollapalooza. |
shit, i know none of them

I think I'm in for VIRGIN FESTIVAL instead (I always like the vibe there better). Almost identical lineup as Lollapalooza (probably because it is the same weekend).

Perry Farrell is the man. His wife's very nice. Talked to her a few times online.
Lolla was cancelled for a couple of years due to poor ticket sales, but last year it made a huge comeback. This year's show should be amazing. Sucks I won't be able to make it. I'm a huge Perry Farrell fan and love pretty much anything he's involved with. Hell, he's the founder of Lollapalooza. A lot of bands owe their career to him. |
if you go let me know, i'd love to whoop the shit out of you.
i might stop calling you out and leave you alone if it happened. i'm sure all the people you've stolen from you be happy with some video of your face getting pummeled. |
was there many years ago when NIN played in AZ. they walked of the stage after one song. anyone else there?
|
I went to the very first Lollapalooza in Jersey...... Was tripping hard during Siousie and the Banshees, and got lost from my party..That had to be more than 10 years ago?
|
