Giuliani, The Sopranos, The Roman Empire, and a Parade
Some Italian-Americans .. errrr, MY people, the ROMANS are complaining about Soprano's actors appearing in the NYC Columbus Day Parade.
Sez former NYC Mayor Rudolph Giuliani ... "I'm a big 'Sopranos' fan. The show is a terrific show, and I would urge some Italian-Americans to be less sensitive. You could spend your whole life wanting to be insulted. ... Why? Why do you want to be insulted? ... I think we all get beyond it when we just relax more about it. It's just a show." Mr. Giuliani, you're alright. Present NYC Big Cheese Michael Bloomberg said "I apologize if anybody's offended. If you are offended, don't wave back when they wave to you." Nice. This whiny Larry Auriana, president of "The Columbus Foundation" retorted "Besides the whole crime element, it shows Italo-Americans as uneducated, low-life brutes. What the fuck? Have you even watched the show? Don'cha know Tony is a very sensitive man and his daughter is in college? |
