The x5 is can go both ways. It all depends on how/if you hook it up. If you leave it alone then it is a soccer mom mobile. If you throw on some nice wheels, maybe some tvs and it is no longer a soccer mom car.

What else are you looking? X5 is okay, its not bad but so many other options. Buick Enclave actually is looking decent...so is the Mercedes ML 550.
By the way I have a X3 (it's a girls car for sure) and a Z4 and moving away from BMW very soon

As long as you get the NEW model, and the 4.8 engine then its a mans car.
The new model looks very manly and beefy, and the 4.8 is the biggest engine in the X5.

I love the X5. Would defo think about buying one, but if I could afford it I would prefer a Range Rover sport. In the UK they're gonna cost around $110K for a nice one tho so I don't see me buying one anytime soon. I just couldn't justify the thing sitting in my driveway since I only do about 60 miles per week.Comment

In this sort of a situation there are a few things to consider,
Do you like the look of the car?
If you do then take one for a test drive if you haven't already.
Do you like the way it drives/handles and are you comfortable driving it or does it feel awkward when you get behind the wheel?
Is it practical for your needs? Do you need something that you can pack all your gear in and head up to the ski hill and not have to worry what the road conditions are like? or will it be your basic daily driver where extra cargo room and all wheel drive are just a bonus and not a necessity?
So now after taking all that into consideration, if you like the look of the car if it is a comfortable ride with good handling and meets your expectations in a vehicle then I think you have found your answer. Who really gives a rats ass what anyone else thinks. If someone thinks it's a chicks car great all the power to them they are not the ones that are going to be driving the car you are.
Now about the X5, personally I have never owned or driven one but I do like the look of them, and if they drive anything like the beemers that I have driven (I have owned 4 myself) then I would have to say that the X5 would be a good choice and a strong reliable car that is comfortable and fun to drive, and with regular maintenance could last a lifetime.
